Can't connect to Xbox Live

1> Go to your xbox dashboard and locate the "Network settings" section.

2> Select "Edit Settings" and change your IP setting to Manual.

3> Enter the following settings depending on your router type (Credit goes to http://live.tommccann.net):

Linksys
IP Address : 192.168.1.250
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DNS : 192.168.1.1

D-Link
IP Address : 192.168.0.250
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0

4> Next open your internet browser and select the address bar.

5> Enter the 192.168.1.1 (If you use D-link 192.168.0.1)

6> A box will show up asking you for an ID and password. (your parents may have changed it)

7> Locate the "Applications and Gaming" tab, then click "Port Range Forward"

3. Follow the instructions to select your wireless network, select your wireless network name, and then enter your wireless security information.

PPPoE settings loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If your Internet service provider uses PPPoE authentication, you have to enter the settings in the Xbox Dashboard if you have a direct connection through a modem. If you use a router or a gateway instead, leave the PPPoE settings blank because the router performs PPPoE authentication. Note If your ISP does not use PPPoE authentication, make sure that these settings are blank. To learn whether your ISP uses PPPoE authentication and to learn the correct PPPoE information, contact your ISP.To configure the PPPoE settings on your Xbox 360 console, follow the steps for the version of the Xbox Dashboard that you are using.

1) Get connected to belkin's wireless network or wired network
2) Once you get connected, it may not be able to go online on XBox Live
3) Go to any computer that is going online with the router
4) Type in 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of your Internet explorer
5) This will open up router interface(here we have to do some settings)
6) In the left hand side column, click on FIREWALL.
7) Leave the password blank in login page and disable the FIREWALL. Click on Apply Changes.
8) Under FIREWALL(in the left hand side column), click on DMZ
9) Make a "check" on enable and under Private IP: 192.168.2.25. Click on Apply Changes.
10) Now go to Xbox, under network settings, choose IP settings, and select manual configuration
IP: 192.168.2.25
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.2.1
11) Now select manual configuration for DNS settings.
Primary DNS: 4.2.2.2
Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.1
12) Restart both Belkin and Xbox
13) It should connect to XBox Live now...

xbox configures the connection automatically as long as it is able to detect an internet connection(either wired or wireless). For wirless connections though, make sure xbox is using the correct security key or wep key for the wireless connection.

To troubleshoot your Xbox Live connection from the Xbox Dashboard:

1. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard.
2. Select Network Settings.
3. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
4. After the system has completed its tests, select More Info to learn more about your network, paying close attention to any test that failed.
   
   In each case, the More Info section will offer tips for correcting the conditions preventing you from accessing Xbox Live.
5. Select Edit Settings to adjust your:
   • IP Settings (including IP address, subnet mask, and gateway)
   • DNS Settings (including primary and secondary DNS servers)
   • PPPoE Settings (including user name, password, and service name)
