The gap is good. But there was a tear in the on the valve cover that the fuel pump is connected to.The gap is good. But there was a tear in the on the valve cover that the fuel pump is connected to.
Dumbest comment I ever heard. Flow back hole plugged. Not a thing to do with the valve cover had met. That will need replaced when you pull the cover automatically. What makes you think the valve cover was leaking, was oil coming from there.Exactly where is it leaking from.If the oil filter is tighten too tight, then it will leak, also by the oil filter is the oil pressure switch,it's screwed into block,it can leak. The rear oil seal can leak, where engine and transmission meet.If valve cover is not installed correctly,it will leak and loose compression.
Its either the valve cover gasket or the o ring that seals the distributor. It could be coming from either, so look for oil on the valve cover above the distributor. If you see oil there its the valve cover. If you dont see oil coming from the valve cover above the distributor, then look or touch the bottom of the distributor and if there is oil there then the distributor oring is whats leaking.
both problems could be due to a plugged or defective pcv valve, since your symptoms would both result from that. you do not say where the oil leak is coming from, but if it is coming up top at the valve cover (especially the back) this is a possibility. check the valve itself, and the tube that goes from the intake tube to the valve cover for blockage.
Well there is the intake. And if your running your car with a bad PCV valve you will have pressure building up and oil will spray making it look like its coming from somewhere else rather than the Valve covers. I would replace the PCV valve first and power wash the engine and replace the valve cover gaskets. Please leave a good feedback on here for me.
The valve cover has rubber o-ring seals that fit into the valve cover and seal oil out of the spark plug wells. Over time, they get hard and shrink, allowing oil to enter the plug wells from the top of the engine. You need to remove the valve cover and replace the valve cover gasket and o-ring seals. The seals should come with the valve cover gasket set.
fairly simply. take any plastic pieces covering valve cover off... then unbolt around the edges of the valve cover. take off the oil filler cap, may be some breather fittings like pipes coming from the valve cover you will have to undo. valve cover should come off. replace new gaskets, and reseat and re install:) good luck
pvc .valve could be defective or Eng worn out hope it is the first replace pvc. you can tell how thee engine is by having a wet & dry compression check done
depends where the oil came from.of it has leaked down from a valve cover gasket, that is not hard to fix.if it a leaking valve seal that is expensive and if the head gasket is leaking, expensive.look at the outside edge of the valve cover, and check the edge for oil.if there is alot of oil,by the time the plug is unscrewed oil can go inside.the oil would burn off,so if there is oil inside it is dripping down probably from a valve seal.take off the valve cover and inspect the seals they are probably no good.there are 2 seal sets, one is in the valve cover, and that results in oil on the outside of the plug, and the actual valve seal which results in oil in the inside of the engine.
If by head covers you mean valve covers this is an easy fix just install a new set of valve cover gaskets, as this is a fairly common problem ( valve cover gaskets ). Just unbolt the valve covers and remove them then scrape off the old gasket and install the new ones and bolt the covers back on. This is a pretty easy job and the gaskets are less than $ 25.00. If it is the oil pan gasket you will needto drain the oil and unbolt the oil pan and remove it then clean off the old gasket and install the new one.
