ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1215N-PU17-RD 12.1-Inch Netbook (Red) Logo

Asus Eee PC 1215n half screen on the right is white, the other half is fine

Turned on my netbook to find the right half of my screen is dead. The left half is fine and works perfect. The right half stays white. The screen back light works fine though, I could still dim or bright the whole screen. Any idea on this issue?

The LCD screen in your laptop is defective, the only option is to replace. Go to www.ebay.com Type: make and model of laptop, refine search to screen.

I recently updated this netbook using the Windows 7 upgrade and went through the entire tech support call with Microsoft regarding accurate procedures to upgrade from xp to Windows 7. The netbook worked...

To let you know one FACT....
MS tech support is JUNK....
If you still want to use them it's you call.....

Solution
Get an external monitor and fix that to the monitor port (watch this video)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7MZ23T-NRg&feature=fvw

on the back or on side of the notebook serial port
if display on monitor is ok then there is some issue with you laptop display
if hardware is the issue
you need to aproach a tech shop to fix the issue

Switched on notebook, and screen appears broken,

Hi there.
Yes you can have the screen replaced and you can do it yourself, however i would recommend that you send it for repair as these Eee PC's are difficult to disassemble and you have to know what your doing.

If you have any of the manufacturers warranty left on the netbook take advantage of that and send it to Asus for repair.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
