It probably means that the connections or wiring from your battery are loose or broken. When you add the extra current required to run the motors, the voltage is being lost. Monitor the battery voltage with a meter while trying to drive the scooter will prove this.

I am a Pride Field Service Technician, and can order parts for you from Pride, directly. Please contact me at my email (remove the *) D*H*u*d*s*o*n at GMAIL.COM and I can work with you to order the parts. You may only need the battery connector assy or such.

Dan, its not a pride. So ordering from pride won't work. Although the customer can order directly from the vendor.

My mother-in-law's brand new pride mobility scooter, with full battery charge showing in the display, today would not go.

Hello, Liz -

Since your mother's scooter is new, you or she need to contact the seller of the scooter and ask your questions. No doubt it is still under warranty.

Best wishes.

My husbands Daytona 4 just started having this charging problem

I'm afraid your batteries have expired. They will show full voltage but the Amps are not being replenished.

Scooter won't move

Things to check: Drive/Free wheeling switch, brake release lever (this activates an internal micro-switch that enable power to the drive system, battery box connectors (condition of contacts - corroded, missing, loose. etc.); main control cable (corrosion. lose or missing pins, etc). If all these are OK, could be controller or drive control potentiometers (speed, forward, backward) on the handle-bar (tiller).
Good luck!

I have a new Drive Medical Odyssey that will not charge. Several attempts but the yellow "charging light" will not turn green, even after 24 hours. Once I disconnect the charger and turn on the...

soo Have the provider install new batteries. No telling how long the "new" batteries sat on a shelf and in the showroom without being charged. The batteries are warrantied and should be replaced. While you're at have them check out the scooter after the new batteries are installed and remember to charge before use. Hope this helps

The scooter charges and shows full charge when started. Scooter will not drive uphill - certainly seems to lack torque - when driving up hill battery indicator drops to red

Either the hill is too steep of a grade/incline, the weight of the rider is more than the scooter is designed to carry, or the battery does not have enough power. If the batteries are old or have not been maintained properly, they may not be getting a deep solid charge that is needed to operate on hilly terrain. This is indicated when the batteries show a full charge, and then drop off quickly after a short period of use. Make sure that you are not exceeding the recommended weight limit for the scooter and that your batteries are less than 2 years old. Inclines of more than 5-6 degrees are typically not recommended for safe operation.
I hope this information is helpful to you, good luck!

Battery is charged, scooter is assembled, but when the key is turned on, the scooter and all gauges are dead

Has the scooter been sitting unused for a while? Will the horn honk when the scooter is connected to the charger?
If the batteries are charged and NO LIGHTS come on at all when you turn the scooter on, please check all of your connections, most importantly the fuses as your circuit may be incomplete.
If there was any power getting to the scooter at all, the lights would at least blink to let you know there was a problem.
When batteries sit for a while they will oxidize and go solid which may prevent them from getting a full charge. The charger shows them as full but it is just the current bouncing back from the solid core. Try replacing the batteries to see if that solves the problem, if not, contact the manufacturer.
Good luck!

Have an invacare patriot LX4. Unit takes full

Check to see if the scooter is in freewheel mode. To know if the batteries are bad you need to charge them for 10 - 12 hours and then have them tested with a load tester.

Electric scooter Troubleshooting

A small tip here - bigger is better. The large diameter wheels clear gaps in concrete or pavement that would hang up a skate wheel or a scooter with smaller wheels. Most electric scooters also handle well in gravel and small terrain features. We don't recommend slamming electric scooters into a curb to get over it like some people do with their bike. This could result in damage to the electric scooter. Simply Ollie up a curb and keep going.
