My artisan mixer is leaving black bits in my mix?

I started getting small black bits in my cake mix and thought it was from the baddle wearing where its been rubbing on the side of the bowl, since then i have bought a new paddle and my mixer it in immaculate condition and very clean, yet it is still producing black bits in the mix and the more i use it the more that comes. they are hard tiny balls of something, there is no evidence od anything wrong on the outside, could it be something inside that wrong?? please help as this is my business.

If its possible to separate out a few samples of the black bits and crush them against some white paper with your finger tip and make a mark on the paper , this is a sign that a few little devices inside your mixer are wearing down and coming off , there called brushes and there made from "carbon" that is only about the second most common element in the universe these tiny "brushes" are a part of your motor that runs your blender , but relax any qualified appliance repair center can install a new set of brushes and clean out the remnants of the old ones for a reasonable cost , im sure well less the cost of a new one then it's good to go for a long time of use again

KitchenAid KSM150 bowl won't stay put

If the base is not holding the bowl properly then only a replacement base plate or another bowl is going to fix it. The base plate is held onto the pedestal with 3 Philips head screws.

When mixing it leaves black specks in the food. When I make whip cream I can see black specks in the cream.

There is a problem in the planetary, there is wear or lack of lubrication causing wear in something in that area. Replacing the planetary is not a big or expensive job.

Hi there, I was doing cake mixing and turn off

If you can hear the motor spinning and the beater does not spin, the worm gear has probably failed. These fail frequently, specially after using them beyond there designed limits. The motor heats up and the gear, which is a type of plastic or nylon, melts.

I have a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer (325 watts/model KSM150), about 5 years old. Lately, when mixing dough for bread or cookies, the motor head of the machine wobbles a bit from side to side. In...

the solution to this is to tighten the screw visible through the base that intersects the pin. Turn the machine upside down and using a long flat screwdriver tighten the screw.

Kitchenaid artisan mixer does not turn the blade at low speeds

If it is the worm gear then the planetary will stop turning when there is a load on the paddle but the motor will continue to run at the speed you set it at. I'd be checking the carbon brushes, checking that the field assembly has not loosened up a bit and then I would see if the speed control plate adjustment screws are loose. I'd then reset the speed and see if it stays as it should be.

When mixin bread dow the arm of the mixer moves loose

Lay the mixer on a towel and look up inside the base to the top of the neck. There's set screw up there. Tighten. If that doesn't work your shaft may be too worn and needs to be replaced.

KitchenAid Artisan 10 speed 325Watt Mixer

Hi, The KitchenAid mixers are usually quite easy to work on if you are competent at DIY. It sounds like a gearbox fault. Gearbox parts are easy obtained for most of the models and are easy to repair.

This is a service manual for a lot of the KitchenAid mixers. Might give you an idea on how difficult it is to work on before taking the plunge.

Hope this helps
