Only printing when I disconnect the USB cable

My HP2200d only prints when I disconnect the USB cable from my Intel based IMac OS X 10.5.5. This is my first Mac. The printer installed fine and work OK on my old Dell running Windows 2000 (it was time for a new computer!)

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

John O.

VERY INTERESTING! lol. Not a Lot i know to try, But just re install the printer, I know on most HP Printers they require the printer to be unplugged while installing, But on Mac i hear they automatically install, So it HAS to be plugged in... just delete the printer driver and try to reinstall. Hope this helps!

Can't print from HP 2540 aio to my Imac PowerPc G5 OS X 10.5.8 The Imac keeps telling that the printer is offline.

A quick look at the HP web site for this printer shows that it only supports Max OS X 10.6 and later. These versions only support the intel processor based macs. Your PowerPC mac is, unfortunately, obsolete as far as Apple and the peripheral manufacturers are concerned and is not supported.

Locks frequently and restarts sometimes all by itself. Parts of the screen regularly skews in triangular shapes.

  • Verify that the power outlet you're using is good and your power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet-if using a surge protector, be sure that it's firmly plugged into the wall outlet. Also, try temporarily plugging directly into the wall outlet to eliminate any issue with the surge protector; plug a different electronic device into the same wall socket to make sure the socket works, and also try the iMac's power cable in a different wall outlet.
  • Make sure the computer's power cable is firmly connected to the computer.
  • If any external devices are connected to your iMac, disconnect them and try to turn the computer on again. If the iMac will power up when those devices are removed, but not when they are connected, contact the manufacturer of those devices for assistance.
  • Try resetting the iMac's SMC
  • Remove and reinstall the SO-DIMM memory modules, located in the bottom of the computer.
  • Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve

    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    4. Release the power button.
    5. Attach the computers power cable.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Trying to print on a #10 envelope from iMac 27 with Os 10.5.1 using iWork. Printer will not load paper

I am on an iMac using OSX 10.5.8 and printing on an Epson R1800. With iWork, word processing module I set up the envelope to print and under the File menu, select page setup and choose #10 Envelope with Portrait orientation. I feed the envelope into the printer in the normal horizontal, top first, print surface up. In the File menu I select Print and hit Return. Most of the time this works. Sometimes the envelope feeds through without printing, and occasionally the envelope won't feed but the printer goes through the printing cycle. The R1800 is not the ideal envelope printer. It is made to print photos on photographic paper. I use an old fashioned typewriter to address envelopes.

ANy solution to the lack of fuji drivers for new macs and OS?

4500N can't be recognize with an Intel Mac, because the Appletalk doesn't work. My solution to print: I've got a powerPC as an interface between Imac intel and fuji network adapter. The pictro driver is installed on both machines. On The Intel, The Appletalk is connected on Airport. On the PowerPc, The Appletalk is connected on Ethernet. Ethernet cable between powerPC and pictro network adapter. SCSI2 cable between PNA and the 4500. Of course, auto calibrating + eye-one color calibrating. WELL!! it works.

Macintosh OS X 10.5 drivers for your product are available for download from the Epson support site.

1. Go to the Epson support website (www.epson.com/support).

2. Select your product model and download the driver for OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system.

Note: Be sure to select the appropriate driver compatible with your system: PowerPC or Intel Intel based.

Lexmark P6350 and New Imac intel compatibility

I'm part way there.  I rang Lexmark and they say P6350 can only work with Mac OS up to 10.4 whereas I'm using 10.5.2.  I'm not yet fully convinced it can't be made to work and a knowledgeable friend will be round later.  I may get back to you. Porphyry
