Laptop screen display

You may have to download a new driver from the Acer website.
It will likely ask for operating system info-

Try with new battery pack. It may be faulty RAM too.

Return it to the shop you bought it from. The symptoms indicate a failed harddrive or operating system.

Click Start/Control Panel/Display
When the display window opens, click the Settings tab. Change the screen resolution by sliding the tab to the right or putting your mouse pointer on the line to the right of the current setting and clicking.

Press CTRL+ALT and any one of the Arrow keys to turn your monitor screen to proper position..see the pic to find out arrow keys

Restart the Notebook and keep tapping the F8 key to access the Windows advanced options.

select Safemode.

Once you are in safemode, follow the below steps :

1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.
   
   Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
7. Click OK.

Press FN+F6. If the display is not back then follow the steps.
Please restart your laptop when its booting press F8 key . You will find few option asking for selection. Select that by using up/down arrow key. Select " Last know good configuration" & press Enter. Next page asking for selecting operating system, for example: windows vista or Windows XP etc. Just select the operating system & press Enter again. ( Hope your laptop showing only one operating system ). Your laptop will start normally. After the if you seen the screen dark then press FN+Right arrow in key board(>). When you press FN + ( < ) or ( >) key that's time its working for brightness controlling for screen. Now if all well then fine other wise please let me know .
Another suggestion is, run your Acer driver DVD for installing Display drivers. When finish restart your laptop and watch whats going. If no success then format the Operating system & reinstall again.

A nearby device can cause stray magnetic fields that will cause the display to be affected. A problem inside the monitor will cause the display to have problems. If somebody turns on their monitor nearby, the monitor's degaussing when it starts up will cause your monitor to dance wildly for a moment or two.

keep electronics away from your computer. Mobie phones etc. can distort the image shown on the screen for periods of time, usually when a text or call is coming through.

Sometimes if the refresh rate isnt set high enough you will see a noticeable flicker on the screen .. to change the monitor refresh rate .. you can right click on the desktop and then left click on properties .. click on the setting tab then click on the advanced tab then click on the monitor tab ..look in the drop down menu where it says 60 hertz and see if the refresh rate can be changed .. if it cant .. uncheck hide modes the monitor cant see and then click on the drop down menu .. pick a refresh rate .. 75 hertz is what i use and it should stop the flicker

Startup while tapping the F8 key,this should open the startup options screen,Select start up in VGA mode,If that works,then you need to update the video drivers

start your laptop in a safe mode by pressing f8 during booting
