This happened all of a sudden after playing heroes of might and magic for ps2. I tried to play a ps3 game after that and it wouldn't work, but it worked 1 hr prior to that.
What you need to do is quick format your ps3 drive, after you do that, it will play ps3 games again

I have the same problem, I can play ps2 and also play dvd's. When I go to play a ps3 game it either doesnt recognise the game is there. Or if I let the ps3 set while turned off then turn it back on it will start to load the game then freeze. Please, need help, cant play socom

I played PS3 games for months, was playing GTA4 one day and the next day I wanted to start the game, nothing happens. I try another PS3 game, nothing. I tried a blu-ray movie then it works fine. I tried a PS2 game and it worked fine. I since tried many PS3 games and none works.
Same problem...plays dvds fine but does not recognise PS3 games. Could this be a fault sony are aware of???
I only had ps3 for 13 months. I didn't play it that much. It will play moves but will not play or reconize ps3 games. I can not fix it. What do I do? Take it somewhere? But where?
