Diagnostic test on HE3T stops at C:01. How do I determine if I need to replace the flowmeter or if the issue is with the inlet valves? Note: I have already cleaned the drain pump.

And have cleaned the screen where the inlet valves connect to the machine.

If you turn the machine on normal with the top off so you can actually see the inlet valves, you'll be able to feel if the valves are operating or not. If you hear a humming noise and feel it vibrating yet still get no water then the valve is bad.

Testimonial: "Wish I would have seen this. My husband actually ended up fixing the problem by disconnecting and then reconnecting the flowmeter, cleaning the part that moves to let soap flow into the machine (it was gunked up) and the plastic pipe that opens out the back had fallen out (I guess for steam?) and was down in the bottom of the machine. He reinserted that in the back of the machine. I think between all that and cleaning out the drain pump, we took care of whatever the problem was. Not sure which action did the trick, but we are so glad it is working again! Thanks, we will know how to check the inlet valves if this ever happens again."

SOURCE: Drain issue on front load Kenmore He3t

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

SOURCE: kenmore 90 series need to replace the inlet valve

This is actually a simple repair that the average Do-It-Yourselfer can perform with just a little guidance. The following link explains all the steps necessary to replace a water inlet valve on a Kenmore top loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r600647-replacing_water_inlet_valve_kenmore

If you have questions along the way, please let me know. A replacement valve can be purchased online at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, repairclinic.com, or pcappliancerepair.com. All these sites offer competitive pricing and excellent service, so shop all of them for the best price. Use your model number for your search criteria. If you do not wish to order on line, use the part number found at the sears or appliancepartpros website and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. This is a part that is commonly carried as part of the in store inventory. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: he3t won't start. Diagnostic test runs fine. no

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

My Kenmore elite he3 says f13 and doesnt fill up with water at all

The F13 indicates a problem with the dispenser motor.

From the description you give it would seem there is something wrong with the intake valve. You say no water comes past the flowmeter.

The F13 error indicates a problem with the dispenser motor. This might cause the water for the detergent to end up in the bleach compartment but there should still be water.

From the description you give it would seem the water valve is the problem.

The image below shows how to enter and run the diagnostic test. At C:01 cold water should be dispensed. At C:02 the dispenser motor should move. Per the error code this may not happen but you should at least get cold water at C:01 in the test.

The valves can be checked with a meter is one is available. Make sure the water supply is turned on.

If there was not water then you should see an FH error instead of the F13 error code.

Try to run the test and see if you can confirm the inlet valve will actually work.

Use caution running the test with the top off

My ice make stopped makin ice I changed the filter and it still wont work the light is blinking in the freezer

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Check the water inlet valve. It might be filled with ice. In this case thaw the water tube with a hair dryer to remove the blockage. Also check the water inlet valve's screen is not blocked. Clean the debris from it if there are some. If still the issue persists, then the water inlet valve might have gone bad which can be confirmed by testing it. This issue might be due to a defective defrost thermostat. Test your defrost thermostat to determine whether it has gone bad and replace it, if required.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Got a h f alternate flash and then it quit

check you fill hoses first and make sure water is comeing out of each line. If the lines are good check you inlet valve is it clogged with sand if no. check your flowmeter if you have one you need to take the lid off and inline with the dispenser and the inlet vavle you will find a white peice with 2 hoses attached one on each side. that would be you flowmeter take it off and blow through it..it should sound like a cazoo. put it back togther and turn it on if your lines are clear and you see good flow of water entering your washer replace your flowmeter.

Water Leak inside drum

That's because the water fills from around the door bellow via the dispenser. Any small water leakage will probably go unoticed because it drains into the seam in the rubber boot into the wash tub UNDER the wash basket. As it accumulates, it will eventually fill to a point where it is visible in the wash basket. It sounds like you have a water inlet valve that is failing. That's the only way water gets into the washer. It passes from the the water taps, through the inlet valve, through the flowmeter and into the dispenser. If the inlet valve is leaking, you probably have a diaphragm in the valve not closing properly, or a bad solenoid. I would recomend replacing it. To access, you will need to remove the top panel of the washer by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top panel in place. With the screws removed, the panel slides back, then off. The water inlet valve is located on the left-hand side in the rear of the washer (facing from the front) where the fill hoses connect. You will need to shut off the water supply, disconnect main power, remove the electrical connections to the solenoids, remove the any hoses and finally the mounting screw to remove. If you post back with your complete model number (located aorund the door opening), I can provide you with a part number. If you have further questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

HF error

The "F/H" error code can be attributed to a number of things.

If NO water is in the washer:

- Check the inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.
- Check the water inlet valve for clogs and clean the inlet screens.

If there IS water in the washer:

- Verify the Drain Pump turns on.
- Verify the Pressure switch hose is in good condition and is connected properly from the tub to the switch. The hose is an air hose that is attached to the wash tub on the right-hand side (facing in from the front - with the lower panel removed) and runs to the pressure switch (located in the rear of the washer on the right-hand side - facing from the front, with the top panel removed). Make sure the hose is attached at both ends and has no leaks.
- Make sure you don't have a siphon problem. This occurs if you place the drain hose into the standpipe at the wall too far. If the drain hose sits in the standpipe in a manner where there is no air gap (i.e., drain hose sitting in the waste trap, or fits too tight at the top to allow air in the pipe) water will start to siphon out of the machine as it fills. This is a common problem.
- Check the flowmeter to see if it is operating properly. The flowmeter is white cylindrical device located near the inlet valve that senses water flow into the washer and tells the presssure switch to cut off. If the flowmeter fails, the pressure switch does not receive the correct input signal and the washer generates an error code.

In a nutshell, check the easy things, first. I would begin with making sure the inlet hoses are not clogged or kinked and the make sure the drain hose is not causing a siphon issue. Then follow the recommended steps mentioned above.

You can place the washer in diagnostics mode for troubleshooting by selecting DRAIN/SPIN, NO/SPIN and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (must be the same button). The washer display will change to "C00" and start a series of tests. For a complete list of error codes and diagnostics procedures, look inside the lower panel under the door. There should be a tech sheet somewhere inside the washer that explains all of this in detail.

If it's not a simple hose issue, I suspect you may have a flowmeter problem, or an air hose leaking to the pressure switch. These are the more common problems I have found associated with this error. I hope this helps you. Post back if you have any further questions.

FH code had been intermittant, now occurs with every load. Have been through the steps suggested by jtfix for that code. Went through the service tech sheet that comes with the machine and ran the...

marine, In usually all cases I find this to be the flow meter causing the error. You can check the inlet valve at the main board. Remove the top, It will be the 4th harness from the right looking at it from the front. On the harness from left to right the first two wires will be the hot water solenoid, should read 800 ohms. The second two wires will be the cold, should read the same. If the inlet valve checks good, I believe that the flow meter is causing the problem. Catriver.
