My computer wont detect my USB flash drive

When I plug my USB flash drive into my PC, the computer doesnt detect that its in the USB port. Therefore, I cant access any of my files on my flash drive. I need to know how I can access these files so I can, at least, store them on another storage device.

When i plug my 4g cruzer micro usb memory stick nothing happens the cpmuter dosnt read that it is plugged in

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

How to solve usb not reconized error in sony vgn-s36gp?

Hello

Disconnect the flash drive from your computer, then plug it into a different USB port. On occasion some USB ports do not detect inserted equipment (either because the port is damaged or because the flash drive is not supported by the particular connection).

Connect the flash drive after the computer has powered on. If you plug the drive into the computer before starting the system, the computer may not detect the USB device.

Open an Internet browser and navigate to the drive manufacturer's website. Although most USB flash drives are plug-n-play, the computer may not have the appropriate drivers installed, which means you must install the driver before the system can use the flash drive.

Select the "Support" option, then choose "Drivers and Downloads". Click on the model of flash drive you are using, then the operating system. Click on the driver download link and wait for the driver to download to the computer. Double-click the downloaded file to load the installation wizard. Accept the license agreement, then follow the prompts to install the driver. Restart the computer and the system is ready to use the USB flash drive.

Clicking sound when I plug in hard drive and computer does not pick it up. What's wrong?

Hello,

First of all make sure that the USB port that you are using to connect it to your PC is a USB 2.0 port, and not USB 1.0.

Also if it came with an external power, connect it to the external power before putting on your PC.

This is because the voltage supplied by USB 1.0 is lower than that of USB 2.0 and therefore might not be enough to power up your USB Drive.

After making sure about this, power up your system, and plug the flash drive, then Right-Click on my computer icon, select manage, then go to Disk Management Option.

On the Disk management option Page you should see ALL the drives installed on your system, including the hidden ones, so what you will just do is, try and locate the one representing your flash drive, and right click on it. then select "Change Drive letter and Paths", and give the drive any new, unique letter (i.e alphabet) different from the ones already on your system, and click on OK.

This should make your Flash Drive to be detected automatically.

Hope this helps you out.

I have Toashiba laptop Satellite A135-S2276. The laptop doesn?t recognize my USB flash drive. Apparently the device was detected by Windows because as soon as I plugged it in, a balloon pooped up and it...

Check it on another computer. if it still doesnt work then your backup is gone. if it does work maybe you should take it in. also try other accessories in that same port. if other stuff doesnt work then you'll probably need to fix the port. also check the drive on any USB ports in the back of you pc.
