SOURCE: I only shoot one nail and the rest is air

It sounds to me like the spring within the magazine is not functioning properly. WIth brad nailers, it is that tension that places the nail into the proper position for firing. This may be as simple as cleaning the loading area and slightly lubricating it. WIthout seeing the actual gun, I cannot tell you for sure. If you are not sure of this, look for a professional tool repair shop in your area. They will be listed under industrial tool repair.

SOURCE: My D51257 nailer will not

If air escapes from the trigger as soon as you connect air, most likely bad trigger valve or needs orings in valve. If air leaks from the trigger when you attempt to fire the gun, then internal orings are at fault. If leaks when attempting to fire, remove head and lube all the orings with silicone paste lube (sold at Lowes or swimming pool supply) and retest. If gun fires after lube, order oring kit or keep using till trouble. If you need to replace the trigger valve, remove nails for safety and the trigger to expose the valve. Remove the rollpins holding the valve into body. Apply air to gun and catch the valve as it pops out with a gloved hand (use caution because the valve could come out with force).

Bostitch just blows air when trigger is pulled

Air leaking from trigger when attempting to fire the gun is normal and should cause nailer to fire, however if the trigger pin is not depressed all the way in,the gun may not respond. Easy test. Remove the nails and remove the trigger. Connect the gun to air and quickly depress the valve pin all the way in with finger. If the gun fires, adjust the safety foot so that the trigger pin is depressed all the way in. If the gun still does not fire, then remove the head cap and pull out the headvalve. Apply plenty of white grease to orings and retest. If the gun fires, then replace the headvalve orings. When the headvalve orings are worn, air will leak from bulkhead chamber to the headvalve chamber causing the gun to not respond to the trigger. The addition of grease to worn orings will make them temporarily seal. Good luck

Dewalt D51238 not firing when trigger pulled but air does come out?

Remove the head and lube the headvalve with white grease. If gun still does not fire and makes air noise at the trigger valve then orings within the trigger valve are worn. Replace the trigger valve or if you have a source for small orings, just replace the two orings on the metal stem (2mm x 1.5mm). Dewalt uses vinyl orings on the stem that fail. Replace with buna. Good luck

Dewalt D51256 16 guage straight finish nailer leaks air by the trigger

Time to replace a few orings in the trigger valve. There are at least three orings made of vinyl that fail, two on the trigger pin and one on the plunger.

When i connect the air it sounds like all the air is escaping.

depends on where air is escaping from. If it is around the trigger then you need a new trigger valve (I have detailed instructions in the tip section on repair) If it is leaking thru the cap you have a pinch o ring or stuck firing valve. Let me know exactly where air is leaking and I will try to pinpoint the problem for you.

Only shoots out one nail for every 4 or 5 trigger pulls

The gun will miss fire if the driver does not return to top position allowing nails to move into position. Could be bent driver, faulty trigger, cracked lower bumper or check valve not in place. Easy to check if trigger. Remove air supply, and remove the pin holding the trigger. Fire the nailer by depressing the firing pin with your finger. If the gun works ok, single fire trigger is faulty or safety foot is out of adjustment. If still miss fire, remove head and pull out cylinder and piston. Check for bent driver, cracked lower bumper or black band (check valve) is out of place on outer part of cylinder covering a row of holes.

SENCO Framing nailer suddenly decided not to fire. Air escapes from top of gun when trigger is pulled

You have some worn/broken o-rings inside the gun. You need Senco repair kit #YK0360 to fix it. Fairly easy to replace the o-rings, just be sure to put lots of lube on the rings as you put it back together.
