The Polaroid FLM-323B does not have a QAM (clear digital cable) tuner. It only has NTSC (analog) and ATSC (digital OTA) tuners. Retrevo has the manuals for the Polaroid FLM-323B here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Polaroid-FLM-323B-TVs-manual/id/279ag018/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDFs.

I wish that I had better news for you.You will need a set-top box if you want to watch digital cable.

Ematic AT102 How do you program it to receive the cable channels when no cable box is needed?

Unfortunately, the Ematic AT102 does not have a tuner for cable television. It only has a ATSC (digital over-the-air) tuner. You need to connect it to an TV antenna and then search for channels. Depending on where you live, you may need an external antenna to get sufficient signal strength to receive local channels. See http://www.tvfool.com for signal strength information in your area.

Older cable signals are NTSC (same as analog over-the-air). Newer digital cable is QAM. (Some channels are broadcast as clear QAM which don't need a cable box with some tuners/TVs.)

To record your cable, you will need a different type of DVR/set-top box. An old VCR or DVD recorder with an NTSC tuner would work to record analog cable. There are a few ATSC converter boxes that also support clear QAM. This is one of the models: http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=CM-7003 .

I wish that I had better news for you. Other options are available for NTSC, ATSC or QAM tuners. Please add a comment with more information about your cable service if you'd like extra information on these options.

Comcast cable has stated that i need a cable box unless i have a tv with a QAM tuner. Does my Emerson LF391EM4 flat screen TV have a QAM tuner?

Depends on where you get your service. Where I liveon East Coast of US, ya got to have a Comcast box (DTA Digital Transit Adapter) or better) PERIOD. Currently, there are no TV sold in my area that can beat the Comcast system. It may be different where you live.

I have a Jensen TV, Model Number TS2050J. I need to know if it has a QAM tuner built in.

Hi.
No, your tv is an older model sdtv with an analog only NTSC tuner.

Newer model have an ATSC/Qam digital tuner, but not your model.

This means that if you want to watch tv, you'll have to get a converter box. It will have the ATSC/QAM tuner i it, and it converts the signal into lower definition NTSC, and then sends it to the tv through either coax cable, or rca cables.
Once in a great while you might even find one that has s-video output, but those usually are expensive.

I hope this helps you out.

My Brand New 40" westing

To get HD channel form your cable TV without using the cable provider HD tuner box but using your TV Clear QAM tuner (your TV has Clear QAM tuner, my TV also has QAM tuner so I do not have to use the cabel box, but my COMCAST does not provide may Clear QAM signals like they use to) to get the unscrambled HD, the cable provider must provide those unscrambled Clear QAMsignals for your TV to pick up the signalS.

How do i know if my tv has a quam tuner im not

First it is QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) and is used only on cable systems. Know that you will only get clear-QAM, this is, those not encrypted. This means only the local channels, which they are not allowed to encrypt. It will switch automatically, so if you get any HD it will be QAM. They will have names like 85-1 for digital source, not necessarily HD. Not all set-top boxes can tune digital channels--check with your cable system. You have called them? Be sure to remind them on your STB make and model, they may need to replace it. -Ken

    Ready for nat'l digital transition?

If it is an older model (i couldn't find anything on it either), it most likely does NOT have a QAM tuner. Be aware that only the "un-encrypted" cable channels will be free otherwise you will have to buy or rent the digital box from the company to get the rest of the regular digital channels. The un-encrypted channels are like 71.2, 83.7 so you should know if you are getting those or not.
