Any usb mouse will work. Just get one off ebay: http://www.ebay.com

Click Start/Control Panel and look for Mouse. Look through it for what ever problem you might be having.

If you are saying your mouse/touchpad has a problem then try reinstalling the touchpad driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Panasonic Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

How do i remove windows 98 from my cf27 and install windows xp

Boot up with the Windows XP installation CD (you will need the Product Installation code) then proceed to install Windows XP follow the instruction to delete the existing partition - create a new partition - then Format the partition (not a quick Format) - this will wipe the hard disk and install a clean Windows XP system.

Does the panasonic cf27 have an ADSL port?

I was able to (http://all-tech-thoughts.blogspot.com/2010/05/linux-on-panasonic-toughbook-cf-27.html) all about the CF27 and apparently it does not have the required port (an Ethernet RJ-45).

They do sell PCMCIA ethernet cards if you wanted to add one.

I get a 110v ac shock from my cf27 .when i use the manes power pac. where do i start looking for the short.

hmm this could be anywhere, But I would start at the power pack first. If that has a short then it can and will kill your laptop. Only 5v should be running through the motherboard. The PP brings 110 to the plug which is then rectified down to 5v so anywhere from the PP to the input plug on the mother board could be causing it to be live.

OS wont recognize wireless modem

This happen regularly on the older Toughbooks. Find an XP or Win2000 modem driver for the 27 or 72 at Panasonic's support site or driverguide.com and it should work just fine. It will allow the machine (XP) to recognize the modem and install the drivers.spellcheck.gif

Try a new power supply. I also had a cf27 recently that the power switch had gone out, but most commonly it's the supply.
