Disconnect the MAF sensor and see if it changes rpm's. Pull off the big boot at the intake. Is the throttle valve wide open? If it is, the throttle body assembly needs cleaning-maybe it is stuck? Have you scanned for trouble codes?
Wow, The throttle cable will be the next ground the system would find if it lost the main ground. It would be too small to carry the load and melt the plastic to the cable. Have to change that part. Make sure the ground from the battery is good to the engine, AND the body.If the engine doesn't have a good ground to the battery the throttle cable will take the load if the body ground is good. There should be a smaller ground that runs to the body somewhere, doesn't matter where, Also if the throttle is stuck wide open there will be no fuel allowed to the motor. Made that way so if it gets flooded, wide open is a "clear flood "mode .
Just pull the face-plate off and smack it 5-10 times (don’t break it but smack it hard enough ;))... This usually happens when one of the keys is stuck (usually the source button)... I had this issue, tried many things for almost a week, then somewhere about this smacking idea (I think on YouTube), and walaaa it worked like a charm.... Bluetooth, memory buttons and all
This is from the service manual. Fault code No.: 60 Symptom: Throttle servo motor: open or short circuit detected. Defective throttle servo motor. Malfunction in ECU (servo motor driving system). Probable cause of malfunction: •Open or short circuit in wire harness. •Defective throttle servo motor (potentiometer circuit). •Stuck throttle servo motor (mechanism). •Stuck throttle servo motor (motor). •Malfunction in ECU.
It appears to be stuck-open throttle maybe due to a bad throttle cable or a broken return spring. Check the operation of the throttle with the engine off, and don't start the engine until this problem is repaired. Hope this helps!
I am a gm tech u either have a egr valve stuck open or a leaking fuel press regulator which is under the upper plenum i would check the valve first just remove the valve it should be visibly open if thats your problem.
