I'm assuming that your machine is not booting properly. You will need to place your disc Windows disc insert it then go to repair see if it will repair the boot manager again. Or simply re-install the original software that came with your machine again. You may need to do this again. These are usually indicators that tell you it is time for a total reboot of your system not always but in most cases I have worked with over the years I usually advise my clients to re-install system all over again to get rid of registry errors or add ware or spyware that has been installed to create this mess in the first place.

This is why it is so important to keep up with the cleaning of your system and data storage off of the hard drive. Just in case these things happen and they do. So if you have not already done so and hopefully you have not lost any important data thus far If you still can get it off that machine right away and re-boot or do a boot repair from the Windows original software that came with your laptop.

I have this gave you some sort of idea as to what I would do if your machine is right in front of me. John

Im trying to reformat my sAmsung laptop but i cannot find the cdrom to first boot, only the hardisk and windows boot manager will appear!.,.thnkx

You may have to go into the setup (BIOS) and check to see that the CD-ROM is enabled as a boot device. Some BIOS allow you to disable the CD-ROM as a boot device. It would not be listed in the boot manager if that were the case.

Can not boot from Win XP Pro without an auto restart

Hi Jeff,

I see you are having issue installing windows, getting an error the the Boot Manager is missing...

The windows Disc that you have is this a burnt copy? possible that the installation files on the Windows you have is incomplete.

But if I may ask before you tried installing this Windows what windows did you have on your computer?

Have you tried booting the disc directly from the CD drive instead of installing it from within windows.

Go into BIOS and change the boot configuration of you Computer make sure the the CD/DVD drive is selected as the primary boot option before the hard drive, once that is done restart your computer make sure that you Windows disc is in the cd/dvd drive, you should get a prompt on the upper left saying to boot from cd press any key - press Enter right away once you see that prompt this should boot from the disc for the installation to continue but if still it looks for the Boot Manager the copy of your installation disc maybe incomplete.

Also you can try to wipe clean you hard drive and try again again with the installation.

Haveing problems with hp notebook 1100 boot mgr missing error while initializing NIC

Hi There,
I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by this - are you attempting to boot from LAN? Are you able to boot into windows at all?
What it sounds like is that your computer is either missing a boot manager, or you've assigned (in the bios) LAN boot as the priority boot device.
If that's the case, you can change the boot device priority back to internal hard disk in your BIOS (pressing F2 or F10 at startup splash screen)
If you're missing a boot manager for a windows installation, you can insert your windows installation disk and select "repair an existing installation" to repair your boot manager

Boot mgr is missing

Boot Manager is missing If the boot partition no longer can be found, then Vista will display the following error: BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
The Windows Boot Configuration Data file is missing required information
More Info MS KB 919529 More Info MS KB 927391 Check points for fixing missing boot-manager: Check that your boot device is configured properly Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and perform a "Startup Repair". Boot Manager is compressed If by accident having compressed the entire boot partition, then Vista will display the following error: BOOTMGR is compressed. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart OR maybe try this first. Check points for fixing compressed boot-manager: Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and perform a "Startup Repair". If the above doesn't solve the problem then boot into WinRE again, but when selecting the Vista-installation, then press "Load Drivers" (Instead of "Next") and use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive and deselect "Compress this Drive" and choose Apply to sub-folders and files. If that also fails then boot into WinRE again, and go to the "Command Prompt" and execute these commands: compact /U C:\bootmgr compact /U C:\ntldr If you for some strange reason have lost your Vista DVD, then you can also use a Windows 2000 / XP install CD and enter the recovery console instead and execute the following commands: attrib -c c:\bootmgr attrib -c c:\ntldr

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Windows boot manager

Hit F8 a few times while your computer starts to boot, a boot selection screen should come up. Try selecting "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if you can boot up without running the repair install.
