I have a Polaroid FLM-373b that gave to us, becaue it needed a LCD inverter board which we replaced. TV worked good until it started not to turn on or off. Fixed caps, this fixed it for a month until it exerpienced a surge (was on what we thought was a surge protector) then the power supply went totally dead. So we just bought a brand new power supply for it. Installed it. Tv will not power on. Tested cord bought a new fuse they tested fine. It acts like it is not getting power in the brand new power supply. What could be the problem why it will not power up? Caps are all good on it. We are now desprate to get this up and going. Thank you - Don.
If you had a surge, it could have damaged more than just the power supply. When you plug in the unit, does the power indicator light up??? your main board could also have damage. The main board sends a signal to wake up the power supply thus turning on the TV. If you have to replace the main board as well, it probably won' t be economical to repair the set.
ok, what control box are you referring too??
I have attached a link that shows your power supply. Are you talking about the high voltage cables at the top left as shown in the picture??

ok, is it the 9 pin cable that plugs into the 9 pin connector that has terminals labeled; gnd, 5vstb, 5v, stb, 12v, VA ????
I recycle TV's and have a box full of various power supply cables. I'm committed to do everything I can to help ya. If by chance I do have the cable, I will send it to you free of charge !!!

It sounds like you have tried everything I have been able to find on the web......Have you Registered your TV with Polaroid yet? Because if you haven?t you can make up the few months your past on the warrantee.....I would go and Register and then call on the warrantee.....it?s a bit fishy but it works...In my opinion they should just warrantee it for you. (being so close to the end an all) ....I have had great success when I have call the manufactory directly to see what they can do for me......don?t talk to just any one ask for the manager of customer service or the manager in the warrantee department...in the very begging of your call.... here is there information if you didn?t have it already Regional Headquarters: Polaroid Corporation Corporate Headquarters 300 Baker Avenue Concord, MA 01742-2131 Phone: +1 781-386-2000 Good Luck and be assertive but not an *** on the phone.......I find that when I?m just strait up honest with them it all works out....If it doesn?t try the Registration thing?Let me know if this helped cbinny1

we found a burnt wire on the cable assembly unit to the Dsub behind the control box. It had burnt the wire half way up it clear into the socket. I am thinking we need to replace that cable assembly unit since it burnt inside of the plastic. However I cannot find one here locally or online to save my life. Could this be a problem as to why it is not turning on? I should then as you stated replace the main board as well? Thing is it worked perfectly up until that power surge then it all went dead. We are at wits end here. THank you for the help thus far.
Eventually it was not the cable to the dsub.It is the cable from the backlight (inverter) the power board that I need to either replace or fix? It is one wire that plugs into the power supply that burnt. Why did not blow the fuse first is unknown. I am looking to buy a main board as you stated if it is needed. But I am really wondering if that cable assembly from the inverter to the power board is the only thing that needs to be replaced? If so do you have any idea as to where I can buy one at? Thank you for helping thus far. I look forward in hearing from you again.
