Need instructions for setting the correct timer- on/ off modes.

  • Anonymous May 18, 2009

I can set the clock, but can't seem to program it to go on and off at times I've put in. It will only turn on when in the on mode, never in the auto mode.... or it won't turn off

To set the timehold down the TIM button until Day flashes, Use +/- to adjust then hold down time until hour flashes..Repeat until set.

To program,
1. hold down prog until the cursor starts to flash at 12:00
2. Press PROG to advance to the day or day group you want to program.
3. press + to advance the cursor to the desired ON time
4. press mode until display reads "on"
5. use the + to move the cursor to the desired ON duration? Clock shows this also.
6. press mode until "off" is displayed. then advance the cursor thru the period the outlet should be off. (stupid to have to do this!)
7. press MODE to select as the ON or OFF period(!)
8. press TIME to exit programming.
9. Press PROG again to program another set of days.

Stupid system.
Good luck.

HOW TO PROGRAM THE TIMEX-TE111 TIMER
=====================================

This timer has a battery that charges when you plug the device into a power outlet. The timer needs to either be plugged in or have it's battery charged to be programmed. If power is disconnected from the timer for too long, the device's battery will drain and the time and all programming will be lost.

MODES
------------
• On = constantly on, regardless of programming
• Off = constantly off, regardless of programming
• Auto = On or off state depends upon the programming

RESETTING THE TIME AND PROGRAMMING
----------------------------------------------------------------
| • Press "Mode" + "Prog" at the same time.

TO SET THE TIME
--------------------------
• First, set the Day:
- Hold down the TIME button until Day flashes,
- Use +/- to adjust to the correct Day
• Then, set the Hour:
- Hold down TIME button until Hour flashes.
- Use +/- to adjust to the correct Hour and AM/PM.
- Circle the time around the 12AM/12PM to get the right AM/PM setting.
• Then, set the Minutes:
- Hold down the TIME button again until the Minutes flash.
- Use +/- to adjust to the correct minutes of the hour.
• Last, exit time setting mode by holding down the TIME button.

TO PROGRAM
---------------------
• While programming the device, if you pause (stop pressing buttons) for more than 15 seconds before finishing the programming, then all changes are lost and you are automatically exited from programming mode. If you are waiting for the programming to automatically exit, then you can count the blinks of the cursor: 15 blinks and it exits.
• ON/OFF Increments:
- Initially all the time increments will be set to OFF.
- Increments are 30 minute (half hour) duration.
- If programming has previously been set, then time increments that are black (filled in) are ON.
- When setting the ON/OFF increments, the clock will show the time of increment as well as the blinking cursor on the outer circle of time increments.

• Enter Programing Mode:
- Hold down the PROG button until the cursor starts to flash at 12:00AM.
• Set the days of the week for the device to turn on
- Press the PROG button to advance to the day or "day group" you want to program.
- (I think you can set programs for every day of the week and for each "day group" to make a really complex schedule. How does it combine your day and "day groups" schedules? I think it would make sense if it doesn't allow both days and "day groups" to be programmed.)
• Set the timer to come ON at a specific time and to turn OFF after a certain amount of time:
- Starting at 12AM, press + button to advance the blinking cursor to the desired time you want the timer to turn on.
- Press the MODE button until the display reads "on"
- Use the + button to move the cursor to the time you wish the timer to turn off.
- Press the MODE button until the display reads "off"
- If you wish to set another on/off period, continue to press the + button until you get to the next on time and repeat the above process.
• When finished press the TIME button to save your work and exit programming mode.
• To program more than one day or "day group", press the PROG button again and repeat the process.

TO EDIT PROGRAMMING
------------------------------------
• Hold down the PROG button to enter programming mode,
• Press the PROG button until the day or "day group" you previously programmed (and wish now to change) is displayed. When you have reached that previously programmed day or "day group" you will see your programmed time increments appear.
• To change your programmed time increments:
- Starting at 12AM, press + to advance the cursor to the desired time increment you want to change
- Press the MODE button until the display reads "on" or "off" (which ever you want for this time increment)
- Use the + button to move the cursor the desired duration to be modified
- If you have more changes, then press mode until the display reads "on" or "off" (which ever the next time increment already is) and press the + button to get to your next change.
- Repeat until all changes are made.
• Press the TIME button to exit programming.

I do not know how to set it. i have lost the instructions for a 111woods model tn300

Woods timers sometimes have more than one number for same timer.
This is true for most brands of timer.
Companies change model numbers and add new model numbers.

Intermatic makes two different analog timers with 111 model number. TN111 and HB111.
Grasslin has older electronic timer Tactic 111
Timex sells TE111 timer.

Open following link to identify TN300 analog timer and read instructions and download possible manual:
If TN300 is not same as your timer, view images on link and then add a comment for possible help with different timer.

I have a model #Te111(TX12677T), I am having a problem with programming this Timex light timer. I can get the time on, however when I try to program each day it will not hold it's memory. Help ...

Open following link to identify timer and download manual:
If the manual does not match product, then add a comment with clear description of timer and what you have done so far to set timer so I can see problem clearly.

If timer will not hold programming, then try resetting timer if it has a reset button.
If timer has battery, remove battery and replace with new battery, and try resetting timer in that manner.
If functionality is not restored, then move timer to different outlet and connect to different lamp.
And always test outlet with cheap circuit analyzer from home center.
Outlets that are out of code can affect electronics including timers.
If outlet checks out, then timer is probably defective.
Most timers have 1 year limited warranty.

Intermatic DT620 has limited lifetime warranty and might be better value long-term

I can not reset my Timex timer . The timer stopped working after a month and the instructions to not help in programing these timers

The instructions will help quite a lot right now:

1) Typical Timex manual says to re-set timer, press MODE and PROG buttons together.
Compare this information with your instructions.

2) Look on instruction sheet for timer model number, and then add a comment with your model number so I can identify timer manual and possibly post answer that fits your product.

3) Look on instruction sheet for company information.
Timex timers come with standard 1 year limited warranty:
Following phone might work: 1-800-919-3101

4) Scan your instruction sheet into jpg format and then add a comment with link to that jpg, then I can give you best answer for that specific timer.
http://www.fixya.com/support/r6568559-post_photograph_fixya_questions_answers

5) Buy another timer, and return broken timer in new package.

6) Use circuit analyzer to test outlet for line noise and ground fault that affect timer electronics.

7) Buy another brand of timer altogether:

Lost our instructions for TE111 - can you email them?

Timex TE111 must be 24 hour indoor lamp timer.
Instructions say plug in and wait for 30 minutes.
This indicates that timer has rechargeable battery.
If battery won't charge, then timer is no good

Two internet links say Timex TE111 is TX12694TA
Here is link pdf manual
