New Versa 130 won't stay lit

Bought a new Raypak Versa 130. Ignights fine, perfect flame - shuts off after a few seconds. Keeps trying to restart, but shuts down immediately every time. Tried the water pressure setting at the head - had no effect. This is for a 21' above ground pool - below deck level, 25' of 1.5" pvc run water to and from pool to Pump/Filter/Heater. Filter running at about 13 psi. System clean and running well.

SOURCE: Heater is new, installed at grade on above ground

Adjust the switch fully in the opposite direction. If you are at 1.5 you are at the light end of the adjustment range of that switch, which can be adjusted up to 5psi. Then let it back off until it works reliably. Rarely do you need to adjust a pressure switch on an above ground pool so it should end up about in the middle of the adjustment scale.

It sounds like the flame sensor is bad. If thats not the case you may need to replace the control board. You should make sure the flame sensor is directly into the flame.

Pilot lite won't stay lit

Thermostat flame sensor. Do you see a little rod next to the pilot? That is what tells the main gas valve that the pilot is lit and it is safe to give gas. Easy swap, and you can usually just pick up a generic one.

What do I do when error code reads E 15 . Dryer runs for a few seconds than shuts down. I've tested micro switch and i'ts fine.

Post some pictures of your pilot assembly. I think this might be one of them spark sensor deals where the pilot lights and then detects flame then relays that back to the control for igniton verification. OR just try and clean up the electrode with steel wool and see if the flames stays lit is what I would try.

Reddy heater runs but not consintently shuts down and have to restart it. model 165DT

Shuts down in 5 seconds? If so, it is supposed to. If the flame is not perfect. Read on..

The ignitor (glowbar) only glows for 5-7 seconds- just long enough to create combustion. Once the flame starts- the flame must keep itself going. So if at anytime the flame goes out- it stays out- there is nothing to restart it.

What most people don't realize is that the photocell is looking for a flame with perfect color, which means the heater is not emitting pollutants. If the flame runs too rich or too lean (polluting) the photocell shuts the unit down. No self re-start.

Start troubleshooting by setting the pump pressure. Pump pressure is directly related to fuel delivery. Poor fuel delivery equal poor flame equals shutdown.

I would contact Raypak technical service and they may be able to help you correct the issue over the phone. This is even more likely since the heater is new. I hope this helps.

Pilot ignights, keeps sparking then goes to lockout

I have the exact same model with the exact same problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I just picked up a new gas valve, but maybe i should check the flame sensor first. In my systems case the electronic ignition fires, which lights the pilot, but it keeps firing even though the pilot light is lit. So I think it could be the flame sensor, how do I remedy that or check it out. I would like to check this out first before dropping in the gas valve, cause they arent cheap and I can still return it before its installed.

Goodman GMP Furnace problem. Original problem is

Good one! Is the flame getting to the flame sensor within the few seconds? Maybe a good cleaning of the burners or flame tray would help. 1.3 ma is enough for the flame rod to tell the board to stay on. Re-do all the ground connections both at the board and furnace cabinet to be safe. Check the polarity of the power going to the furnace. What are the chances the second board is bad?

Did you change the igniter, or glow coil as it is sometimes called? If it is orange in colour instead of white it needs to be replaced as it is not strong enough to ignite and stay lit. Hope this helps.
