Dryer heats up, but acts like the motor isn't turning

I have a whirlpool leq9030pqo, the heating element went out a week or so ago, and I exchanged the element and the thermostats.

Now.. When I turn the knob to a specific time and then turn the switch on and press, the unit doesn't do anything. The heating element comes on and it gets hot. But does nothing else.. Could the on/off switch be causing this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My whirlpool dryer isn’t heating. I have checked all fuses, connections, thermostats, and switches. Everything tests just fine. I have cleaned all lint. The only thing that even seems a bit off is that the...

Heat circuit runs through thermostats and fuses (most dryers have 4), timer, heating element, and motor. Could be any one of those. Also insure you have 240 volts going to dryer.

Whirlpool dryer bad heating element AGAIN

Hi Warren Fink
Try this solution to your problem

A vent clogged with lint can cause the dryer to overheat.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on air fluff/no heat, and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

Gas dryer heating element won't come on.

There is a controller problem to turn on the gas manifold to produce heat. Since you have it only one week old, let's take the advantage of the warranty to have a new controller unit replaced.

Whirlpool leb6000pq1 not heating

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a

motor centrifulgal switch, in the element

circuit, that the motor closes to insure

the motor is turning. Try another heat

setting. There is more than one

thermostat. You may have blown the

'thermal fuse' too, which requires

replacement. The elecment has a contact in

the 'timer' circuit too.

It is possible that your element has

failed also.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint

filter and the exhaust vent tube and all

the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is

restricted.

Element heats up... but does nothing else

Steve,
Sounds like it is the motor gone bad. You are getting power to everything else. as a last ditch effort try testing the continuity of the wiring from and thru your push on switch to your motor.

If that checks "ok" then you may have to replace the motor.

Now no heat after working for a few weeks with a new heating element.

By the time a dryer has worn out a motor and element, the wire connections are old too. You are going to have to check every connection, especially the push-on type for tightness and corrosion.
