Should there be a red or orange wire connected to the circuit board ?

On a heat pump A/C unit the orange wire going to the thermostat operates the reversing valve. default is the heat cycle. Without the orange wire connected the unit will only run heat. Most straight cool units have no orange wire. Red wire to the thermostat is for 24 volt DC. Red wire to the blower motor is low speed Black is high speed. Hook up both and MELT THE MOTOR !

1993 dodge shadow radio wire diagram i have a problem with my instrument lights on the dash board speed, gas, temp, gages lights will not come on the radio light is on and it plays and works good but i have...

Hello! I will assume you are connecting a factory radio for your 1993 Shadow.
Remove the Orange wire from ground...Listed below is wiring from car to radio; You may need this one day...You are correct; There isn't a dimmer wire...The Orange wire, from the radio, connects to the Orange/White of the vehicle...Grounding the Orange wire is causing your problem...

1993 Shadow...Orange/ White=Illumination...Red=Hot at all times...Red/White=Switched 12volts...Black=Ground

Factory radio...Orange=Illumination...Pink=Hot at all times... Red/White=Switched 12volts...Black=Gnd.

Car; Orange/White to Orange of radio
Red To Pink
Red/White To Red/White
Black To Black

Let me know how you make out..

Replacing new AOSSQ1152

What's the source of the info that the two orange wires are Low & High?

Orange is an unusual color, but I'd say, with 99.999% certainty, that if you put a voltmeter across the two orange wires, it'll read 220 volts (nominal).

The two orange and one white lead give you the ability to run @ 110 volts -- there will be 110 volts between one orange and white and also the other orange and white.

For this motor you only need the two orange wires which will give you 220 volts between the two. Cap off the neutral/white wire (not needed) & connect the two orange wires, one to L1 and one to L2 on the motor (L = Line). And don't forget to connect the ground...

Charlie

P.S. You should also have a GFCI on this circuit.
