My receiver was turned on and plugged into a surge protector along with my LCD TV. The power went out and everything shut down. A few minutes later when the power returned, I turned the TV back on successfully, but when I tried to power on the receiver, nothing happened. I tried the reset procedure that is in the manual with no success. I looked at and tested the fuses and they are OK. The unit is receiving power as I felt the power surge when attempting to remove the fuses with the power plugged in (by mistake of course).

I am in South Africa. ESKOM our electricity supplier sucks !. The past two days we've had a couple of power outages and serious dips. Needless to say my Receiver VSX-D514 is not powering up. I've checked the fuses - none blown. I've also noticed that there is 110V power on the voltage (checked between red and gray, and black and gray) selector but no 240V reading (between red & black) - checked with a multimeter ! Please help !
We have the same problem with our VSXD514. Surround sound was plugged into a surge protector along with TV and other electronics. The power went off during a storm and when it came back on everything worked except the D514S. It will not power up.
Have sme problem except mine happened while hooking up an input live. have tested transformer and there dosnt seem to be any voltage on secondary side have know idea how to fix short of replacing ther must be an easy fix as it describes this problem in the manual but says to take it to a service agent.
