Hi guys I've got XA7-19i 900p and I had the same problem But I've got it repaired myself. This is common issue and problem is in the power supply unit. I have changed 6 capacitors 470uF 25v and 1 capacitor 220uF 25v. It will definitely help! Try to google it you will find instruction how to do it.

spc12b, Have you tried the flashlight test yet? How old is this monitor? Your monitor has a 2 types of power supplys in it. A switch-mode-power-supply and an "INVERTER" supply. One or both of them could be having a problem. The inverter needs DC from the smps to change it into AC to light up the cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes that are hung in back of the lcd panel. Let me know results of flashlight test. After screen goes black, hold light 1-2" from screen at different angles. here's lots of place online to buy parts. LCDparts.net is good. How are you sure that it's the inverter? The inverter is the most difficult part to troubleshoot because most shops (not mine) they don't have the high voltage equipment needed to test the inverter. Generally this type of error is actually power supply related. Usually bad capacitors but can also be other components. My shop repairs these all the time. Maybe you can find someone locally?

The problem is the power supply in your monitor is about to die. If you can solder then we have a repair guide that will walk you thru the repair.
