Flip Video by Pure Digital - not recognized by computer -

Was downloading latest driver for Flip Video camera. There was an error and it did not finish. I disconnected the recorder, turned it off and then re-connected. Have done this on several computers. My videos are there but no PC will recognize the recorder any more. I am stuck with videos I want and no way to download them. Can anyone help?

Same problem. The light comes on the Flip, but the icon does not appear on the desktop. Do I have to return the camera to the store? :-(

SOURCE: Frozen on startup

Take out the battery and leave it out for 48-72 hours. I had the same problem and Flip support suggested this solution which fixed the problem.

SOURCE: Sony Handycam Dig 8 doesn't recognize tape when trying to record

If it has memory stick, Make sure your memory stick is in. Your memory stick is full. Delete the unwanted pictures from the memory stick or use a differnt biger memory stick.

I looked in the manual. It seems your camcorder does not have a slot for memory stick. But you may still save pictures on the tape. Here is the link to download the manual

Please read Page 40 "recording picture on the tape".

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I GET THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE"FLIP HAS ENCOUNTERED A

This is a driver issue, not a problem with your flip cam. Go to the flip website and download the latest driver, install it, then reboot your computer BEFORE you connect your camera up again. Alot of drivers require you to reboot, they just don't TELL you that you have to reboot. I hope this helps.

My computer wont read my flip video

probably you do not have the right player for playing your flip videos on your computer. As far as I know, wmv is more friendly to windows. You can use a flip video converter to convert flip video to other popular formats, like wmv for windows media player, to rm, rmvb for realplayer, etc.

Hope it can help you! You can download the trial version for evaluation.

My computer does not recognize my flip cam anymore when I insert the usb.. it used to work fine now the software does not open..

Finally I solved it!!!!
Situation: My Computer (MAC And PC) wasn't recognizing the FLIP ULTRA HD, because it has a corrupted file, but couldn't format because there was no communication between camera and computer

Solution:
1. Charge your batteries until get the FULLY CHARGED icon (Green Battery)
2. then remove the batteries without unplugging the USB
3. Voila...computer recognize the USB
4. Format the Camcorder with the Following tutorial: http://www6.nohold.net/CiscoFlip/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=763c871b45fc4b20b5a671b24c909

Usb not recognized on when I connect my flip ultra to any computer (mac or pc)... it has worked in the past on my mac and now is recognized by any computer... driving me crazy...

the camera has to powered and on ...and be sure you plug in the right kinda usb ...it needs to be a 2.0
so ..install a 2.0 driver to be sure you have one ..and after that with the camera powered ..plu one by one in each usb port..until it is seen in one...also look at the camera cause some devices need to confirm from them the connection via usb ...
it has to be seen ..if it's not ..change the cable it may be damaged..
