The refridg only blows cold air when the freezer door is open..
Ahhhh, the classic symptom of a frozen coil/air return duct. You'll have to pull the back panel off the freezer wall to view the coils. The are likely a block of ice causing the air channels on the sides to be frozen, thus blocking air flow. You may need a defrost t-stat or a defrost timer. If the defrost cycle isn't working then you will get a freeze up eventually. The only other reason is if the freezer door was left open slightly overnight letting in moist air. Let us know what you find.

your story is very odd but likely nobody is messing with the door switch hwen you moved , or the wires could have shorted out. normally, the door switch, when you open a door would switch on a cabinet light and turn off the blower. in your case, its the reverse, as you open a door, the blower runs and if you close the door, the blower stops. im not sure if you can figure out which pair is the normally close and which one is the normally open on the door switch in order to swap them or you may rplace the door switch.

You have two vents between the freezer and fridge. The one the cold air from the freezer comes through(blown by the fan) and the other vent is a return vent back to the freezer. On a side/side they're at the top and bottom. It sounds like the bottom one may be blocked by food or frosted closed by ice.
