Mitsubishi WS-B55 TV turns on OK, then shuts off.

2003 Mit. WS-B55 (V21 chassis) turns on OK at first, then becomes unstable,  picture flutters, then shuts down.  It may stay on for a minute when first fired up.  It turns back on, but shuts down in a matter of seconds; eventually, it refuses to turn on until it cools down for a few minutes.   I've replaced the 7 capacitors on the DM board, with no change.

I procured the service manual but it doesn't really delve into troubleshooting.

Does anyone with good experience on this chassis have any suggestions so i don't waste a lot of time looking in the wrong places? The garage is bitter cold, so it the less time I spend out there, the better.

If it wasn't so new and 1080i, I'd scrap it.

Did you repair the two leads? Ao check near the Convergence ICs for an open resistor or two, although that shouldn't effect your audio. Yu most likely have a low voltage regulator or bad capacitor. You will probably need the service manual to actually track it down. I will post a link where you can ge one for 12.99 and the include free unlimited support. They will also email it instantly to you if you return to the site and send them an email requesting they email it to you. You sound like you could fx it with the service manual and some guidance. Here is the link.

I have a convergence problem on my Mitsubishi 65 inch rear projection tv (model number WS65511). I see red double images on all four sides. Middle of the screen is OK. Which IC Mitsubishi use STK393-110...

Your model is the V21 chassis it requires the single IC STK393-110 you will also need 2 5 amp pico fuses. The convergence repair kit is available for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the IC, heat sink paste, the pico fuses and the CD with repair instructions and other service info for that model.

Tv tries to start green light comes on then shuts off

Call a good TV Tech and tell him to replace the Capacitors in the DM Module. There are some 2200uf and some 1000uf at 16 volt capacitors that should be upgraded to 25 volts instead of the original 16 volts. This is a common problem for the V21 Mitsubishi Chassis.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Mitsubishi WS-65511 Turning off

Good Day;

Your chassis V21, 2002 model TV has a problem, but to determine what, try this; press the 'input' and 'menu' buttons on the TV"s front panel for at least 10 seconds. Count the blinks (after releasing); eg blink, blink pause 6 blinks = code 26. The code will repeat 3 x's. The most common problem is the convergence IC's are bad or fluid on the boards.

Good Luck, Day let me know, Big Irish.
