Probably a stuck button, either the menu button on the set itself is stuck or a menu button on a remote is active. Press the menu button on the set itself and see if that "un-sticks" the button, if it was indeed stuck. If the menu keeps popping up, take the remotes from the room and go back in without the remotes and see if the menu is popping up. Try the menu button again on the TV itself to see if that changes things. If the problem was a remote, perhaps it was laying wrong and depressing a button. Or, a button on it may have indeed been stuck. Bring the remotes back in and see if the menu starts popping up.
A bad connection on the small signal board may be the problem! Have a Tech check this connection, it may be to tight due to the heat shrink tube. Have them peel it back to reduce the strain! Should work then!
Yes. Its probably a stuck button on the TV's front panel. Try pushing or wiggling each button on the panel. It could be the channel up/down buttons or volume up/down, menu, etc.
When there is a button that is making slight contact, it keeps the microprocessor busy attending to the command its erroneously receiving from the offending button and may not allow other functions to work when this occurs.
It doesn't matter which button is stuck, any of the symptoms you describe can happen.
Here at my shop we see this problem with these rca sets. The processor is seeing a command from the keyboard or the ir sensor. The most likely cause is a faulty keyboard cuircit board. And replacing is the best coarse of action. To make sure its the problem I remove the keyboard cuicit board and see if the problem goes away. I just use the remote to control the tv, u can also do this until the part arives To get the part you need to know the entire model number. It will be on the sticker in the back in small letters hd52w56yx1 or yx30 or something to that extint. i get most of my rca parts from union electroncs or just let me know and i can look up the part number for you
