My sister gave me DK BIRDS in its original package. It is in the Eywitness Virtual Rality Series and copywrite 1996. The back cover says it will run under Windows XP, which is on my four year old XP Pravilion. The first error message says that the sound decomression software hasn't been installed properly and suggests I run Setup again. I've tried that several times to no avail. The second error message says that "BIRD caused a General Protection Fault in module BIRD.EXE at 0007:05ED"
Can I download a working copy of BIRD.EXE?
This is my second try ad submitting this question. The first try gave me the opition of posting the problem and getting a guarinteed solution, which looked like a good idea untill I tried it and was asked for my credit card so I could pay $10 for the service. I tried to go back to get a cheaper response but my question, better spelled than this version, was all gone. I therefore suggest that you modify your website to give folks a second chance at paying for the privilage of givening you feedback on your softeware.

Try this for the sound problem http://www.learnatglobal.com/XPUpdate.exe , download the file and run it. I had to run a DK program that I have in compatibility mode for win95, 256 colours and 640x480 screen res. hope this helps

Yes! Even when it is dark, some birds will not go to sleep until the cage cover is on. It indicates to them that it is bed time. I can tell you that my birds insist that I'll have their cage cover on and I find that they settle down faster and go to sleep sooner.
