RE: Panasonic NN-950BC/WC microwave 5-year-old unit. All functions appear normal. Can set time for "rice" etc. Quick minute works. Manual time set works. In all methods, the unit starts fine and runs for exactly 3 seconds and stops. It does make rather weird noises for that 3-second period. Unplugged and replugged. Although your model number doesn't seem to show up, the NNS950-series units are powered by an high-voltage inverter. And yours has failed. While an inverter (switched-mode power supply) is more efficient from a power consumption standpoint, it is more complex, thus more statistically prone to fail. These should only be examined and worked on by someone who has the necessary technical qualifications. Seriously. Often the machine-soldered connections in a microwave inverter are too weak, so they eventually fail, especially if heat is high in the area. They sometimes fail catastrophically. When not catastrophically damaged, you may hear clicking or squealing and may smell an electrical odor, which is sometimes obscured by the cooling fan. Sometimes a whole new inverter is cheaper than the time and labor required to fix the old one. If a technician is willing and able to troubleshoot and repair the inverter to component level, it will may be expensive, but may be worth it, especially if he or she will resolder and reinforce connections as needed as part of a thorough repair. That could easily make your inverter beter than a new one! You might be able to get some verbal estimates if you call Panasonic-authorized appliance / microwave repair shops and ask then specifically about inverter component-level repair and simple inverter replacement costs for your exact model number.

Combination Microwave Oven Second one just failed and being returned again to Currys today Code H97 showed. We have just replaced our 27+-year old faultless microwave, own 2 Panasonic TVs and a brilliant breadmaker. This microwave would appear to be unfit for purpose. I note in Which reviews a number of people have had a lot of problems with this current model also. When returned to Curry's the first time they were told by yourselves to avise us to take it to Bradford - 30+ miles away. Come on Panasonic - this is not acceptable. Have told a relative not to buy one the same as its bad news. Not least of all is the considerable inconvenience this has caused. What is the problem with this model and what is being done about it?! We are becoming very disillusioned with Panasonic and its ridiculous customer care. Pass this to management please. What is your solution?
set the time, press start, Nothing happens, to get it to start you have to open the door and spin the glass tray, shut door press start again! Some times it takes 3 or 4 times of spinning the tray before it starts?!?! I've only had this micro 1 year! nn-sn651b
My lg microwave works normally but only for 30 seconds. It takes only 30 seconds automatically when said start no other time it accepts like 1 minute or 10 minutes. Other time even if u press the over stops after 30 seconds only everytime
