go to sim centre enable sim pin  change ur sim pin to a 4 digit number  (then the signal bars should show and u may be asked to wait for activation if that happens press menu + L ) then go to network options  select scan and selct manually  and choose ur carrier  internet will not work!!!!

In order to hard reset the sidekick u have to take the battery cover off when it is off press and hold the {R} letter and take the battery out while still holding {R}, count 4 seconds and place the battery back into the phone while still holding {R}. If this was done right then right then you should see the phone restarting and when it is fully powered on then u should see that the phone lock is completely removed and the phone is not blocked at all
