Kenmore 110 washer capacity Washer. The Kenmore 70 series washer has a 3.5 cubic foot capacity. It comes with the Sears Triple Action agitator and can hold 28 extra-large t-shirts in a single load.
That does not sound good. New dogs sound great, but you must get to the bottom of why the clothes are becoming twisted on the agitator. Usually not enough WATER. Think loose flow of clothes submerged.
Long story short, you cannot jam pack this machine. Less clothes, more water, will equal long life.
Be sure that the mating teeth for the dogs, is not damaged. Slipping here would make loud noise.
More water, less clothes.
2. Using a short flat blade screwdriver, remove the cap.
3. You may see a 1/2" square plastic nut.
I've used a 1/2" extension for a socket set to remove the nut.
4. Pull the top agitator off and turn it over carefully.
You should see the agitator dogs (per the illustrations).
Replace them if necessary and re-mount the agitator, tighten the bolt carefully, put the cap and fabric softener dispenser back on and the top part of the agitator should only turn one way.
the way to do this depends on if it is a dual action or triple action agitatior. dual action - Remove fabric softner dispenser -pull off plastic cap with flat blade screwdriver - bolt is under plastic cap 7/16" triple action (bounces up and down) remove fabric softenr and plastic cap with a 1/2" drive socket extention, put into square hole and unscrew spring assembly. once unscrewed top portion of agitator will come off
if you remove the agitater cap and the inside cap,you will see what they call dogs(4 of them)they wear out and the agitater will not wotk,if you remove the 7/16 bolt and pull the agitater off you can replace them and all will be fine, you can get them at your local appliance part store, please leave me a fixya-mike
Follow these steps for removing the agitator on a Kenmore:
Remove the agitator center cap by either pulling straight up or gently placing a flat blade screwdriver into a slot located in the cap. Sometimes this is a dispenser cup that simply pops off.
If the agitator is equipped with an inner cap with a handle, remove this as well by pulling straight up.
Remove the center bolt of the agitator. You will have either a 7/16” hex bolt or a recessed square plastic nut.If you have the square recessed type, use a 3/8” to ½” ratchet adapter to remove.
Carefully remove the auger (upper portion of the agitator) and set aside.
Remove the agitator by grasping the bottom flange and carefully pulling straight up.
Note: Try to keep all the parts assembled while doing this. In particular, the auger. There are small components inside. In addition, when reinstalling the agitator DO NOT over-tighten the center nut. This can restrict agitator motion and may cause damage. Tighten until snug.

suppose to not spin unitl the lid is closed( safety reasons) the reason for the "weak agitation " is a bad set of agitator dogs. by removing the center fabric softener cup, you can get to and unscrew the center shaft bolt7/16. after removing the bolt, the agitaor will remove and the agitator dogs canbe replaced. part number 80040.youll need to split the agitator top and bottom to insall them . they simply slide into place.
ok take the top off the agitator there is a cap carefully remove this cap and then some have a inner cap with a handle remove that also in side the agitator it has a 1/2" or 7/16" head bolt remove the bolt and then pull up really ******* the agitator. to replace dogs you have to break the taps holding them in not the agitator be careful '
