Good Day
I have a Sony Wega model: kf50we620 a home theater sony HT-SF2300 and a sony blueray BDP-S350.
I connected the blueray to the home theater through hdmi, then I connected from the home theater to the sony tv hdmi one end and a converter that converts to DVI. I change the video input to 7 and the video works but there is no sound coming out of the home theater. If I disconnect the cable from the HDMI-DVI converter the sound works and of course the video doesn't but as soon I connect the HDMI cable back into the DVI connector the video comes on and the sound stops. It works if I use s-video from the blueray and use rca cables for the sound and plugging it straight into the tv so not using the home theater. Whenever I use the HDM-DVI converter the sound stops, it looks like the home theater is transferring the audio through the HDMI cable thats going to the TV instead of trasferring to the speakers that connected to it I tried all setting and no go unless there is a setting in the tv that I missed.

I have the exact same problem. I connect an hdmi cable from my sony blu-ray BDPS-350 to my sony receiver STRDG-920, then from the receiver I have an hdmi cable that goes to a dvi (hdcp compatible) input on my sony 42" WEGA LCD. As soon as the hdmi->dvi cable is connected to the tv the sound cuts out, but video is there. Remove the cable from the tv and the sound is back through the speakers. I've tried different hdmi->dvi converter cables with no luck. I know I can hook up component to the tv from the receiver, but I would prefer hdmi.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have the same set up and same problem.
I re-connected everything through component cable (video 5) connection to the TV, but probably losing something in the sound quality.
