The buttons in front of tv is not working and the remote control is not working
SOURCE: front panel locked and remote don't work
Are you sure there is not a problem with the TV set? The set will need to be on to unlock the front panel. Bypassing the V-Chip Lock on most Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit passcode that is required to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus. If you don't have the passcode, it is easy to bypass. This is neccessary if you forgot the code, purchased the set used, or if you simply don't feel like searching through your files to find it. To bypass the V-chip: You can view the locked shows by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. To reset the code: When you use the button combination 9 and QV while entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode. Good Luck
SOURCE: no control from the remote control
On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on it. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it.

To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds
waynejman, I have the same exact problem, can you tell me what your outcome was?
SOURCE: TV is not responding to the remote control.
The set may have defaulted to a front panel lockout. To defeat that on the front of the set hold down the MENU button for 15 seconds and see if it will then power up. I know that doesn't solve the problem with the remote but one step atta time. These sets are prone to leaky switches on the control panel and when that happens the micro cannot accept two different commands at the same time. That could be why the remote is not working.
1.
Hold down the
MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the
same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be
unlocked
2.
Hold down the 0
(zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the
same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be
unlocked
3.
Hold down the
MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same
time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU
button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Hold down EJECT button
on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time
for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should
unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip
by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to
MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.
Front Panel Lock
This feature allows you to lock the buttons on the front of the TV. Even when the front panel lock
feature is ON, the TV operates with the remote control.
• To lock the buttons on the front of the TV, make sure the TV is turned ON, then press and
hold the ON•OFF button on the remote for approximately 5 seconds.
• To turn off the front panel lock, make sure the TV is OFF, then press and hold the
ON•OFF button on the remote for approximately 5 seconds. Now the buttons will operate
properly.
