The fridge on my side by side fridgefreezer has stopped working!!!!It still dispenses ice but not water!!!!As it is only two years old i would rather repair it than buy a new one!!! 2 years is much too short for starting problems with a refridgerator contact your dealer for a condition because of warranty on the repair you eventual will spend on it. Hidden defects are factory falts are there some holes for melting water are clogged inside the fridge somewhere
An ordinary refrigerator is made for a 17-year life span. like brands as Bosch Siemens Kuppersbusch easely have that lifetime but your dealer is the right point to get your service .

We had a service tech service our fridge for the same problem. Although the ice that was dispensed was not as fine as crushed ice, mainly chunks. In any case, he said this is a known problem and is typically resolved by ensuring the freezer temp is not set at the maximum setting. Ours is currently now set at 3 bars and is producing cubes. Not sure if reducing the temp was the ultimate fix as he also replaced the ice maker.

Which fan are you referring to? The interior one or the compressor fan? If you are talking about the compressor fan, that isn't good news. And could mean many things.
If you are talking about the interior fan, then the thermost is sensing that the refrigerator section is not cold enough. Which could me that the cooling tubes are blocked or clogged. The most likely is frost build up behind the rear panel of the freezer, meaning a defrost system failure. Hee are some links that might help you troubleshoot which component it is:
The defrost heater is easy to check with a ohm meter. http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/freezer/check/defrostheater.php If you have continuity, then it is good.
http://www.ehow.com/how_4504020_test-refrigerator-defrost-timer.html is instructions on how to test the timer.
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/check/defrosthermo.php is instruction on how to test the defrost thermostat.
You should also check to make sure the the condenser coils are clean and that air flow is good over it. I.E. the fan is operating, and not a lot of debrie on or around the condenser coils.

Ho lo stesso problema, Samsung rs23fgrs side by side.
Il display della temperatura del frigo indica 16°C (il frigo non funziona) e dall'erogatore dell'acqua (lato freezer) non esce acqua (il tubo è collegato direttamente al rubinetto).
Sto aspettando di avere un appuntamento col tecnico autorizzato Samsung ma ho paura che possa fare dei danni, visto che già al telefono, quando gli ho spiegato che la temperatura del frigo sul display è di 16° C la sua risposta è stata: "E che problema c'è, in inverno la temperatura deve essere più alta!"
Se qualcuno ha già la risposta al problema preferirei sapere in anticipo cosa fare, prima che il tecnico (autorizzato Samsung!) possa fare ulteriori danni.
I have a Samsung RS2556SH Side by Side frig, no water come out from dispenser but the ice machine is work fine.
