Apple tv and Sony Bravia 26S2030

What cable do I need to connect Apple TV to the Sony Bravia 26S2030? Is it just an HDMI cable? The reason I ask is that there are two input sockets below the HDMI socket on the Sony, which makes me wonder if the HDMI will only handle the video feed and that the audio needs to be plugged in separately.

HDMI contains both video, color and audio all in one cable----audio connection with it is not without issues.

SOURCE: No sound when my computer is connected to my Sony Bravia TV

If your computer has a svga output use input 7 on tv with vga to vga cable and 3.5-3.5 Radioshack 42-2387 cable for audio for best results. If you use the dvi to hdmi on input 6 on tv use 3.5- rca Radioshack part number 42-2551 1/8=3.5mm.

SOURCE: connecting Bravia to PC using HDMI cable

You did okay but the phono sockets are not for Computer/TV use. Phono sockets should be checked int the manual on why they're there. If you have connected the Bravia to your computer, using the appropriate cable, then you should also purchase or request from the retailer where you purchased the TV a cable that has stereo phono plugs and, you didn't say what size phono sockets they are but I presume they are 3.5 mm. So, if the TV has 3.5 mm sockets, you purchase a cable with stereo 3.5 mm plugs. This is adequate for the stereo wav sound coming from the computer and going into the TV. Remember, having 2 Phono inputs on the TV doesn't mean anything. The TV could have a number of video inputs too, ATD AVT, AV, COMPONENT1, COMPONENT2, HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, etc. each have it's respective sound inputs for AV, S-VIDEO, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc. But for the computer there may be a different type of socket for it's sound inputs, normally it is the old phono sockets. Seek help from the retailer or else you could cook the circuitry of the TV's sound system.

I have a Sony bluray surround sound and lg smart tv, I can't play my Apple TV sound through my hts, all my connections are hdmi and both systems have arc, please help?

Is your Apple TV connected to the Sony or directly to your TV? If directly connected to the Sony HTS ARC shouldn't be needed and you should have audio. If that's the case check the Apple TV settings to be sure it isn't set for s/pdif output. If connected to the TV then the TV should be able to put a s/pdif signal on the HDMI ARC pin but perhaps there's no way to assign it to the HDMI input coming from the HTS? It may be going to the ARC pin on the Apple TV HDMI input which won't give you any sound. Normally ARC is intended to put the s/pdif signal from the TV's internal tuner on the HDMI cable from the HTS so the HTS can play TV sound without having to tun a separate Toslink cable from the TV s/pdif output to the HTS. One other thing: Early HDMI cables do not include the ARC wire so be sure you have ARC capable cables. Look in your TV documentation to see if there is a way to assign the ARC output to a different incoming HDMI input if the Apple TV is connected directly to the TV. If not you may need to resort to a Toslink optical cable from your TV to an optical input on your HTS. Or actually running that cable from Apple TV to the HTS would be better since it's possible it could carry surround sound. Most TV's optical outputs are limited to the 2 channel sound the TV can accept.

I have an LCD Sony Bravia KLV-46V400A, and a Dell Laptop both TV and PC have HMDI connection, i pluged them both using HDMI cable, however i am unable to view anything on my TV screen and nothing on my pc.

make sure that your pc is shutdown(off) when you plug the hdmi cable in your tv. First, plug hdmi cable into tv and turn on tv. Next, power up pc and it should see your tv. There should be an option on the pc to set the output a projector.

Sony Bravia KDL 52Z5100 - no sound only picture. HDMi cable works fine with another TV, so no probs with cable TV.

A short fix is to unplug the hdmi cable and shut down the tv compleetly, then get the tv on and plug it in, the tv see the new connection and reset the value's for sound

HDMI problems with 40'' bravia

The HDMI reciever board in the TV is bad and will need to be replaced. You should have a technician look at it so they can get the correct part number using the model number and the TV's serial number too.

Toshiba HDTV + SONY PLAYSTATION 3 + SONY Home Theatre DAVHDX265

I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.

Hope that helps!
