What do you mean unable to install on screen display? Are you saying your screen is blank?

Maybe you need to reinstall the video drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "IBM Support" or "Lenovo Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Video drivers.

If you are saying that the system boots up and everything seems to be running except the screen is blank then try the steps below.

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barely see the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash light and nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card is bad.

There are 2 wireless cards for this model. Be sure you have the correct one. Here is a link to download both of them: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-58597.html#wireless

Maybe a crumb under the Fn key. Give it a stab and see. Otherwise go to start-control panel-monitor-adjust brightness. Hope this helps.

I have a Dell inspiron 1525 and the screen is black. The system is booting into windows but nothing is showing. fn-f8 will not output the signal.

Hi

How do you know that the laptop is booting into windows did you connect to an external monitor
and if it did work on external monitor you could then uninstall the display driver in device manager or do a system restore and then when windows restarts it may load the correct driver ( if that is/was the problem )

If you are sure that it is booting into windows but cannot see anything you could try restarting pressing F8 while booting to get you into safe mode and see if that will show on monitor if it does you could uninstall the display driver reboot and hopefully windows will reload the correct driver

good luck hope this works for you

Reg: WIFI drivers not getting installed

You need to check first if the wireless switch is turn on.If it is on, check the function key for the wireless. Some computers have function key. Sometimes it is combination of fn and f5. Press those keys at the same time and you should see a pop up window and check if the current status is on. If it is on, uninstall/reinstall the wireless driver in device manager. go to programs and features and look for lenovo readycom, uninstall the software and restart your computer. If this didn't work. You need to do re installation of your operating system.

My FN=F5 fucntion to transfer my screen over stopped working...

Go to Start >Control Panel >Display or Personalization.
Go to change display settings and choose Multiple Displays.
Extend desktop

The verbiage may be slightly different due to differences in operating systems. You can definitely set it up in that section of Control Panel.
