Noisy Servis M9503S

Hi,
Very noisy (grating sound), I think its the bearing.
Is this a DIY job (I'm used to maintaining the car) ?
Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for the info bark. I think a new machine is probably thebest solution as it wasn't the best of buys in the first place. The controller froze after the first 6 months and needed replacing, luckily it was in warranty.

Hi.

Remve the belt, and turn the drum by hand, if it sounds rough or is noisy, then yes the main drum bearings have failed.

It is a DIY job , but can be expensive, probably cheaper to buy new washer if it is more than 3 or 4 years old.

Servis 1200 very noisy in spin modes. Inner drum seems to be very loose and wobbly. Noise sounds like a roller with flat spots running on the drum, or a very bad (failed) bearing. Machine is 12 years old,...

the bearings have gone, if the drum can be split, remove complete drum and replace bearings, if you dont think its something you can do, dont attempt it, but to be honest, its realitivly easy

My hotpoint WT960 is getting very noisy when spinning.

Sounds like the bearings are on the way out. It is quite an involved job replacing the bearings and i would susjest you only attempt this yourself if your fairly confidant. To pay an engineer your looking at aprox 100 to 140 pound. Order the 35mm bearing kit C00202418 and 35mm shaft C00117329 if you think its a job you can do.

Slow noisy front heater fan which intermittently will not function. Relay vs. fan bearings, or both?

it is most likely the fan motor, you could try greasing the bearings, it is not an easy job getting to the fan motor so I would replace it .......hope this helps......cheers.

Washer noisy in spin cycle

It sounds like your drum bearings are about to go. I am not familiar with this model, but I would assume it is pretty much like all other front-loaders. Bearing kits can be purchased for all models but there is a great variance in cost eg. in europe €25-€75. It is also quite a difficult job to undertake for the sunday diy enthusiast as it involves stripping down the machine and removing the drum. If you are going to repair the machine as opposed to replacing it I would strongly advise doing it asap and continued use will cause the bearings to collapse rendering the machine irrepairable. Hope this helps.

No spin & drum is very noisy during cycle ,like a jet engine

Sounds like the drum bearings have gone and the belts come off.
Im afraid this is an expensive repair and not a diy job.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
thankyou for using Fixya.

Noisy noisy noisy!

Without being there, it is hard to say. You need to consider tire condition - large mud tires are noisy; tires over inflated will be noisy; a bad driveline u-joint will make noise; drive line bearings, wheel bearings all could be a factor. have a mechanic friend ride with you and help pinpoint the cause.

Belt keeps coming off hoover nextra hnl 3416

It sounds like the bearing.
It`s quite a big stripdown job.
If you are good at DIY then you should be able to do it.
Just make sure the drum isn`t damaged where the bearing fits.

Noisy

Hi,

This will be either the motor bearings or the main drum bearing.

To find out, you need to take the back off, remove the belt, and spin the drum and motor by hand, and see which one squeeks.

My bet is the drum bearing. Good if it is as it's cheaper than a motor.

Look online for replacement parts HERE

You need to check if it is the right part for your machine, and may be cheaper elswhere.

It is a job for a competent DIY'er or technician. If you are unsure, employ the services of a domestic repair technician.

Thank you for using Fixya!
