The problem here is you cannot even find that---I suggest you either buy the y sustain board as only circuit boards are sold and NO parts themselves or take it to a shop for an estimate.

SOURCE: Screen went black, found blown FS2 on Y sustain board, replaced

Same thing happened to me. I called HP, and they said that they knew about this issues since about 2006-2007, and had been fixing it for customers up until 6 months ago. Now? You're out of luck. HOWEVER, I'm committed to getting their attention on their forums. Join the fight!

SOURCE: I replaced the module on YSUS board and replaced

Usually, when you replace Y-sustain board, for older plasma, they suggest to replace both Ydrive board (up and low). And sometimes, Z-sustaint.

Im not sure your are an expertise in this matter so be very careful when you open a TV because hasardous voltages can kill you in the worst escenario.

If you are not, don't work on your TV. It will be your sole responsibility.

Check ships on Y drive board (both board are installed on the right side of Y-sustain. They have square black ships that used to get bad. If they don't have aluminum cooler on them, you can see if they are burned or have holes on them. Old plasmas use to have issues with those boards. Before you installed the Y Sustain you should check Ydrive boards. Maybe you damage the Y Sustain because the Y drives weren't good.

Try to replace the fuse, disconnect the Ydrive from Y Sustain, turn on TV and check for voltages on Y sustain (panel has a sticker with each voltage). Hope you didn't damage Y sustain and can find Ydrive board to fix your TV.

And REMEMBER, you can kill yourself when you work on TVs.

LG 42PC!R Plasma TV turns on and then green led blinking with no ppicture and sound !

Your problem is most likely a fried circuit board. I always connect my good electronic to a back up battery. but your problem might have been storm or surge related, I would take it to a repair center and get an estimate.

PLASMA TV's do not use backlights inverter board since it does not use CCFL for lighting.
Common boards that go out in the PLASMA TV are the power supply, Z SUSTAIN BD, Y SUSTAIN BOARD.
Inspect those boards for blown fuses and caps.
Please read the PLASMA TV training manuals to learn more about the TV.

Screen is blank....powers up fine, sound comes through home ent. system, but no picture. cannot change input modes,no input display. repairable? what to do?

First of all, this is PLASMA TV, it DOES NOT use backlights inverter boards for the CCFL backlights.

Most boards that go out in the PLASMA TV are the power supply, Y sustain board, Z sustain board.
Look at those boards for bad caps, blown fuse, shorted semiconductors, etc.
It will not be cheap to repair.
You can download any one of the PLASMA TV training manuals to get some understanding how PLASMA TV's work.

The screen just turned black and I could still hear sound but now I can't. I did change the input to check if it was the cable box so that covers the sound but I still cannot even get the sound back now...

Hello, My names Dave and I can tell you that you all most likely have a bad Z sustain or Y sustain board! The good news is that most of the time if either of these boards are bad you will find a blown fuss one them! I have worked on this same model of TV many times! You can lay the TV face down very gently and remove the back cover from the TV and test the fuses on the Z & Y sustain boards to confirm which one of the two are bad!

Z sustain board! P/N's: 6871QZH956A or 6871QZH056B Here is a link to the Z sustain with a picture of the board so you'll know what you're looking for http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-6871qzh056b-zsus.htm

If you look at the Z sustain board you'll see that there are two white fuses on the board FS1 & FS2 are the location #'s. There is also a third fuse (FS3) it is a surface mount type fuse and can be easily over looked. Just locate the 8 pin main plug right next to the other two fuses and you can't miss it. It's smaller and it will have gold2_bing.gif colored ends on it and it to is white with the location # FS3 next to it!! If any of these fuses are blown you will need to replace the board to complete the repair! You will need to test the fuses for continuity with a DMM (Digital Multimeter) Do to the fact that you will not be able to just look at the fuses and be able to tell if they are good or bad!

You'll also want to test the three fuses (FS1, FS2, FS3) on the Y sustain board P/N's: 6871QYH953A 6870QYH005B ! Here's a link to a picture of this board also. http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalog/product/view/id/179043/s/ysus-6871qyh953a/

Two of the fuses (FS2 & FS3) on the Y sustain are easy to find because they are normal white fast acting type fuses! The third fuse is also a surface mount type fuse and can be easily over looked. Just locate the 9 pin main plug right next to the other two fuses and you can't miss it. It's smaller and it will have gold colored ends on it and it to is white with the location # FS1 next to it!

If any of these fuses are blown you'll need to replace the board to complete the repair! You will need to test the fuses for continuity with a DMM (Digital Multimeter) Do to the fact that you will not be able to just look at the fuses and be able to tell if they are good or bad!

I have no picture but i have sound any suggestions

Replace 6870QZE013C or 6871QYH053A (more likely).

The second is the Y-Sustain board, located to the left of your TV when looking from the back.

This is the one that usually burns and the fuse on it is likely shorted. Do not replace it, it will burn again.

Vizio P42HDTV10A picture faded and washed out

Try finding the gamma/brightness potentiometer and turning it ever so slightly, testing each time to see if you are adjusting it correctly. If I'm right, it will be on the same circuit board as the cable tuner. I'm not a p42 owner but my dad has a vizio of another kind with this problem.

Visio 42 in Plasma turns on but no picture

Just had the same problem and determined it was the primary power supply board. The TV has a primary and secondary power supply. The secondary controls the on/off and audio. The primary controls the picture. If this is shot, you will not get a picture but will hear audio. I had to call Vizio and have them send me a new power supply board ($150 + SH). Not too hard to install yourself. Hpe this helps!
