I had the same **** happen to me this morning....it's too late for the freaking warranty :( I rescanned it...my cable is coming straight from the wall...I think it's a cable issue...because hdmi 1 and 2 worked...it's just the cable w/o a cable box it gives me remote lag between the hd and digital channels

    37" same issue.

hey i had the same problem I turned my Dynex 42 inch on and got a black screen no signal but got a message 65535 on it so I typed in that number and saw this. I went to menu like it said and did a channel scan and the tv popped back on! I was so excited to have fixed the problem before my hubby got home! Thanks for who ever figured that out... it does fix it...

Same thing happens to my tv every week or two, to fix it i have to go in to the menu and settings and restore the settings and then do a auto channel scan and everything comes back to normal. anyone else heard of a way to fix this or do i have to call for an RMA :(

I haven't tried unplugging my 19 " Dynex (Model: DX-LCDTV19)...yet, hopefully i won't have to. but, i did run into the 65535 ÿÿÿ... thing, except my screen actually read "65535 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ bad" and i was not able to change the channel. the "air" option under the "Air/Cable" option under the "Channel" heading of the "Menu" -phew!- did yield me about 20 channels; but it was not the ****-near hundred channels i'm used too, ****! so i did do a cable-channel-channel-scan, as forementioned by the illustrious mr/mrs Dynex100 him/herself in the post immediately prior to this one! and this fancy technique reunited me with my beautiful cable- and it feels so good! much like a mother kitten refinding her unlost baby kitten. furthermore, the "65535 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ bad" went away...for the most part. now my screen looked as it normally would, but still read "ÿÿÿÿÿ"<--- to a much less extent, as you can plainly see, yet still obtrusive! so i powered off, waited impatiently for about three seconds, and then slapped the ole **** tube right back on. the weak and merciful "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip had miraculously vanished into thin-digital-cable-air! i then went on to taunt the puny-little circumvented "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip by literally programming the sleep timer to do its thing in precisely 5 mins. the 5 mins. ticked away, and my radiation king 5000 turned off on cue. without hesitation, i lept from my wheelchair and brought power back into my 19" Dynex (Model: DX-LCDTV19) by putting it into "On" mode. this exact sequence of crazy manuvers must have really intimidated the "ÿÿÿÿÿ" blip, 'cuz he ain't been 'round since! hope this helps someone.........................................somewhere.

My 42" Dynex just did the same thing. 65535 NO SIGNAL.
The channel label for this said "ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ"

I went to menu... Channels .... Set for Cable TV... Scan Channels.
It rescanned. It took twice as long as normal to scan.
After the scan completed it worked fine except of one thing.

ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ stuck on the screen.

I shut the TV off, then things returned to normal.

Hope this helps.

Notes:
This TV is only 6 weeks old.
Cable hook up.
It is -plugged into a brand new UPS power supply.
I used the sleep timer to shut off TV. The 65535 problem occured the next time the TV was powered up.

Try plugging the tv in without the CATV cable, that worked for me and was able to get into menu and have it reset for all the QAM channels

My grandfather's RCA Flat screen 28'' is connected to Bell currently. When he turns on the RCA and goes into the guide channels, nothing shows up on the channel names and it says " Channel 65535" in the channel box. Please note this RCA 28" is 1 year in use.

Hi Greg, i think your missing something simple.
Pick a channel number you want the Sky on, then in the tv set up
manually tune that channel to 68, or if it's showing lots of numbers for the frequency then just search towards the end and it should pick up. On the Sky box leave a menu showing so it's easier to spot when it gets to picking it up.
