Loud buzzing noise when turning on

When you turn the tv on it makes a loud buzzing noise. at first it stopped after a few minutes, now doesn't stop. Also now it won't turn off, must unplug. It is a 27" sanyo, several years old.

I have taken the back off and there is a small blue rectangular box that stops the buzzing noise if you tap on it with something, but the noise returns when you shut the tv off and then back on. Does this sound like an expensive repair?

It sounds like a bad internal connection or a component failing. If the picture still is very good take it to a known good repair shop.

No it doesn't sound like an expensive repair. It may actually only be a cold or cracked solder connection on or nearby that component. even of it is the component it doesn't sound extensive.

I am experiencing this same problem. I was told it was capacitor and it would cost $40 to fix.

Singer Touch-tronic 2000 makes loud humming/buzzing noise, stitch selector lights quit working, needle bar stopped moving.

Sounds like you've got a thread jam going on in the bobbin case area. Good cleaning and a new needle will probably fix it. See: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091202121550AAHxN8y

Samsung model HLP4663WX/XAA with loud buzzing noise, need to know which part to replace.

See attached photo: you have a bad color wheel----it turns at about 12,000 rpm and bearings in the tiny motor go bad.

High pitched or fan like sound is classic symptom.

The wheel is available on the internet and You Tube has video instructions by model number for replacing it---Google the model number for the part number for your set to locate the part and instructions.

This for most people is a do it yourself job---takes like 45 minutes start to finish.

If color wheel slows too much set will shut down as its speed is monitored and the wheel can even shatter causing shutdown of the set.

My RCA projection tv makes a loud buzzing, humming noise. Does as soon as turned on even before picture comes on, does not stop till tv is turned off.

buzzing noise is cause by small electrical arc inside the unit or a problem in your audio circuit.if you can open the unit up and check if its an electrical arc.

Buzzing

If it is a buzzing noise, it is the Ballast for the lamp.
If it is more of a grinding sound, it is the Color Wheel motor.
Does it go away when you turn off the tv? If so, does it stop abruptly or does the sound tend to get softer (winding down noise)
If the noise stops abruptly it is probably the Ballast.
If the noise takes several seconds and seems to get softer until it stops about 30 sec later then it is the color wheel motor.
