The pre recorded message on the answering machine has been lost.

We had been using the pre recorded message on the answering machine for several months since purchasing our KX-TG9331T phone. I noticed that the answering machine was not picking up messages. Upon further investigation I realized the pre recorded message was no longer available as an option. I recorded a message and the answering machine began to pick up messages as before. Is there some way to recover the pre recorded message?

Thanks.

I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

Using a pre-recorded greeting
message
If you erase or do not record your own
greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
greeting message for callers
and asks them to leave messages. If the
message recording time (page 39) is set
to “Greeting only”, caller messages
are not recorded and the unit plays a
different pre-recorded greeting message
asking callers to call again.

How do I change the message... we set it a few years ago...can't find book

Oops, I posted the info for this on the VTech problem below sorry.

To change the message, first make sure your phone has the correct date, time, year, am or pm, etc.

Now, to Record Greeting - if you don't record your own greeting, a pre-recorded greeting message is used.

So, try this:

1. (Menu) press
2 (Go to Answering Device" with up/down arrow, press OK
3 (Go to "Record Greeting" with up/down arrow, press OK
4 After the handset beeps, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the
microphone.
5 To stop recording, press (OK)
6 (OFF)

Hope this helps.

Radio shack 43-3829 answering machine

Well, your machine might be broken, or you haven't set the little switch on the unit to ANS. The switch is on the side of the machine where the cables come out. But here are the instructions from the manual:

Recording Outgoing Messages:

Your answering machine has a built-in outgoing message, "Hello, please leave a message after the tone." You can use this message or record your own.

1. Hold the ANNC/DAY/<<, and speak clearly into the microphone, no more than 10 inches away.

2. Release the ANNC/DAY/<< when you finish. Your answering machine beeps and automatically plays back your recorded message.

*Your outgoing message must be between one and 60 seconds.

*If you record your won message but wish to revert to the pre-recorded message, press DELETE during playback of your outgoing message.

Phone is not recording all messages left

The 25414RE3 isn't the model with the answering machine. The one that has the answering machine is the 25415RE3.

As for the problem, does the answering machine part of the unit actually pick up the line? Does it announce your pre-recorded message? Does it just not record the caller's response?
