My Nava 13 inch tv/dvd the screen is constantly flickering. It worked great until i moved recently. Why is my screen constantly flickering - what can I do to make it stop?

It could be interference from something, so make sure there are no wires near the aerial lead.

Give it a sharp tap on the side or top.

Buy a new 46 inch Samsung!

This is an unknown make!

IBM T42 2379 screen flickers very much

We have the T40 model laptops at my work and I have found that when the screen begins to flicker that the internal video cable is beginning to break. It is possible to replace the cable by purchasing a used, and same model laptop from EBay and trading the parts.
To attempt this you will need to remove the keyboard, upper framing, and the framing around the monitor. You should be able to replace just the cable.

My monitor is flickering

Flickering on the screen can be caused by defective hardware in the computer or by improperly installed software monitor may flicker and goes into rolling state due to dust, overheating after a long continuous usage, loose circuitry or due to some electromagnetic interference with other like tv , UPS, large speaker systems etc.

FIX :

1.Try Re-installing your Video driver

2 If it is possible, connect a different monitor to the computer. If the flickering disappears, it is a fair indication that the monitor is defective, otherwise go to the next step.

3. Set up the computer and the monitor on a different place in your house. If the flickering disappears now, it is most likely an interference caused by something in the original location. Check for devices which can cause interference.

4. If the flickering persists, check the setup of your system. If available in the setup, make sure that the option Monitor Type is configured as Colour Non-Interlaced.

If you don't think any above possible reasons for the rolling or flickering state of your monitor then we recommend you to get your monitor checked by the monitor company at their respective service cente

My display flickering

1. Check the cables for lose connection in the connectors.
2. Check if there are interferences of magnetic fields from other gadgets.Yes, check if near your laptop, you haven't placed speakers, florescent lights, cell phones, radios and any other electrical device.
3. Check if there were any changes in the display settings like when some computers are upgraded from their original versions. For instance, many laptops that have been upgraded from Windows 95 versions to higher versions, have shown problems of flickering due to poorly calibrated refresh rate.
4. Many a time, it may occur that the pixels on your LCD laptop screen/LCD Monitors are damaged in certain area and so you're unable to see proper images. If that is the case, then you don't have any other choice but to change the entire screen and replace it with a new one.
5.To check if there is no problem in your video card, connect another monitor to your laptop through the VGA port. If it shows any faint images or jumbled images, then the main reason for your laptop flickering screen is your video card.
6. if you don't find that there is any other problem you can detect, there must be problems within your computer monitor screen, otherwise It is advisable to go to your laptop service center and get the laptop checked. If you find that your laptop screen is still in warranty period and you find problems of flickering, it is best to get it changed.

Flickering at bottom left hand corner of screen

Remove every Electromagnetic interference source in a 50 CM radius: speakers (low cost speakers are unshielded), fan, transformer, UPS.
Make a symple test using an AM radio: if you ear noise when approaching the area (screen Off) remove the source of interference.
Some time a different orientation of devices will fix the problem.
It worked for me

Hp Laptop screen flicker

I am sure that the issue is related to the cable that connects to the LCD Display or the LCD Backlight.
There should be some connection shortage because of which the LCD flickers few times as stated by dan231.
I Recommend you to get the Notebook examined as soon as possible before something really goes wrong...

Flickering monitor

Flickering screen display

Flickering on the screen can be caused by defective hardware in the computer or by improperly installed software, but it can also be caused by interference from external devices. The following examples describe situations in which your screen could start flickering:
  • Screen starts flickering because of interference caused by devices which generate magnetic fields, for instance:
    • a TV set
    • a laser printer
    • another monitor
    • fluorescent lights
    • hidden power lines
  • Apart from interference, an incorrect setting in your system CMOS setup can also cause flickering. On some systems it is possible to distinguish between interlaced and non-interlaced monitors. The setup of your system should always be colour non-interlaced.
  • Proximity to the monitor of fans, air-conditioning units or other devices with rotating motors.
  • The number of devices using power from the same electrical line. Are you overloading the plug?
  • Monitor placed on an unstable surface.
  • Improper video drivers, this is a software problem, see section B
  • An improperly configured or a defective video card.
