Well I reheat the PS3 motherboard but after a while the thing gives out even after applying a new coat of Thermal paste. The motherboard has also been through a few power surges sadly to say. But every time I reheat the motherboard it seems to work once again. Should I replace the motherboard.
SOURCE: can't connect ps3 internet
using a wireless router you may need to drop your firewall to connect to the internet on ps3. you definately need a dsl connection and a playstation network account which can be attained at www.playstation.com (Note: some wireless routers have built in firewalls which in some cases cannot be turned off)
if you are using a standard Cat 5 connection through a dsl modem you should be able to connect by plugging in PS3 instead of computer from DSL modem via Cat 5 to PS3. Then setup your system (PS3) for your specific connection.
SOURCE: disc loading
its a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally reconditioned) unit out. i'm getting my new one tomorrow. upset it broke but sony's replacement service is very good.
SOURCE: Surge protector shuts off while playing PS3
swap to another surge protector. if it still does it, it is a power surge at the outlet, if it does not, the Surge Proctector has worn out. have someone with the appropriate knowlege have a look at the outlet as well. older outlets especially tend to wear to the point where the plug literally falls out of the wall.
SOURCE: error 800100a
If you receive an eight digit 800 series error code, there may be a few solutions.
Update the System Software.
Visit Playstation 3 System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.
To check what version of the System Software is currently installed on your PLAYSTATION 3:
1. From the XMB home menu, go to (Settings) > (System Settings) > [System Information].
2. The system will display the System Software version number.
Power-Cycle all Network Equipment
Power-cycle means to turn the networking devices OFF (i.e., unplug
it from the power source), and then to turn it back ON after a set
period of time. This will allow the network devices to refresh its
settings.
Please power-cycle ALL of your network equipment, including any
wireless access points, routers, Voice Over IP (VOIP) modems, and
broadband modems for two (2) full minutes. After 2 minutes, you can
turn on (or plug in) your equipment.

Restore Default Settings
During certain troubleshooting situations, it may be
necessary to restore all of the PLAYSTATION 3 system settings back to
their original "default" configuration.
IMPORTANT
You will need to go through the initial setup screen before you can use the PLAYSTATION 3.
The Restore Default Settings feature will erase any previously saved
settings and restore all of the following settings to the default:
Also, do not confuse "Restore Default Settings" with the "Restore
PS3 System" option (the next option down on the menu). The "Restore PS3
System" will not only restore the default settings, but it will also
delete all hard disk content (You will lose all saved content from your
PS3 system's hard drive if you use "Restore PS3 System.
If all these fixes fail to work you can contact sony at:
http://www.uk.playstation.com/Support/PS3
or
http://www.us.playstation.com/help-support/PS3
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: My 60 GB PS3 wont run PS2 games
Actually only 60GB PS3s supports PS2 games. But It requires particular firmware. In first instance try updating your system, then dissable the disc autoload function, insert PS2 game, and look at the game section if your soft will recognise it. If yes just try to play
Good luck
