Managed switches you can enter the default ip into a web browser, login and "manage" settings" this default IP will be vendor specific. Unmanaged you just plug in devices and that's about it. Managed switches you will pay a lot more for. Some lower end ones maybe several hundred dollars and up. If you are buying switches at Best Buy they are almost all unmanaged.

If you want to connect all pc together then you can use a unmanaged switch or managed switch if you know to configure it. You will need lan wire and crimping tool. Without proper knowledge of networking you can't do it. Please find knowledgeable person to do it. Thank you for asking on fixya.com

Switch compatibility problem.

I think you need to go from the leased line to the ROUTER first. The switch you said was unmanaged...so as far as I can tell there is NO IP for the DLINK. If that's the case your router needs to be before the switch and after the modem.

I'm not an EMC guy, but that error makes me question the connectivity of SP-A to your Management Server. Check the host port status on both controllers to see if they are active. If this is on a SAN, you might check the switch port status going to SP-A.
