Sounds like you are missing your 5VDC standby voltage from the power supply. You either have a blown fuse or a defective power supply. Did this happen out of the blue or after a T-storm???
Hi, i don't know exactly, because i was back in the UK at the time it happened, and my Thai girlfriend doesn't remember, but there are often minor storms here, altho she usually unplugs things!

This type of failure could be in the LCD controller board or the power supply might not be providing enough voltage to the main board and LCD controller.
