My JVC AL-A151 spins records too slow or varies speed. I put a new belt on it and thought this woud fix the problem. No luck. after a while it will finally catch up and play at the correct speed. ??? Thanks for any help with this. -Chuck
I had this problem. In my case it manifested itself mostly in start-up, and I found that I had to move the tonearm past the 1st track to get the TT to spin. I cleaned the contacts on the micro-switch (on the mechanism, from below) with extra-fine sandpaper. It worked.
I'm going through the same thing with my old JVC too, and I've concluded that the problem must b e in the drive motor. I too replaced the belt and it still plays slow in both the 33 and 45 RPM settings.I hate trying to fix a problem just by changing parts and I also hate paying for repairs when buying a new one is such a better solution. Good luck

There are adjustments for both 33-1/3 and 45 speeds underneath the unit. All you need is a tiny screwdriver and some patience. :-)
