Canon MP830 I am having problems sending a fax. I had the Geek Squad come over and set it up because earlier I couldn't receive faxes - not it won't let me send. It keeps telling me to check the phone number but all the numbers are correct. I want to be able to send faxes using the ADF and receive faxes when I'm not at home. How do I set the machine for all of that?

Can't send or receive faxes after fixing error code problem

your printer CHANGE PAPER TO
A4/LTR/LGL PLAIN
The paper size setting is set to a size other than
A4, letter or legal in fax receive mode.
The paper type setting is set to a type other than
PLAIN in fax receive mode.
Set the paper size setting to A4, letter or
legal and load paper of the same size.
Set the paper type setting to PLAIN.

Canon MP830 has stopped receiving faxes. When the fax phone number is called it rings but the fax does not pick up.

Can you still send fax? if sending and receiving are not working you can try to update or uninstall/reinstall the software for this unit..

Canon pixma mp830 printer/fax

I tried this: First, press the Fax button at the left.
Then, press the"settings" button to the right of the little screen.
Then, press the "menu" button to the right of the little screen.
The screen will then display a series of options that you can move through by using the triangular arrow keys that surround the "OK" button. Make your slections, pressing "OK" to keep what you want.

When done, press the "back" button to the right of the little screen until you return to the little screen's "home page" for teh fax.

I just did this and I hope it will work -- it sure makes sense that it ought to.

MP830 Canon Faxing problem

Display the fax menu and then select Print Report\List and print the Users Data List. Check the setting of the ECM TX setting. If this is ON turn it OFF. This is the Error Correction Mode setting, probability is the fax you are sending to is not ECM compatible. The MP830 is suppose to automatically send in standard mode if receiving machine is not ECM compatible however I am not sure how well this works. Turn the ECM setting off by displaying the Fax Menu and then select Maintenance\Settings, Device Settings, Fax Settings, TX settings, ECM TX.

Make sure you use an anolog phone outlet.

Then in setup and the area code and phone number.

Place paper in tray, push fax , then dail number to fax to. The machine has to set to receive a fax .

Cannot figure how to set up Canon MP830 All in One Fax machine with remote answering machine

Cannot figure how to hook up Canon MP830 all in one fax with remote answering machine. I can plug in phone line to send faxes fine but when hooked up in same hole and the phone rings it goes immediately to fax and can't receive phone calls. Maybe i have phone line hooked up in wrong place on my machine. The answering machine is in our master bedroom on the other side of the house. With my last a canon also i had it hooked up to go to fax after a certain amount of rings and it worked fine. That machine got fried by lightening and i replaced it with this machine. If anyone knows what i am doing wrong i really need this fax hooked up all the time for my business.

When i am trying to fax a document it is saying that the memory is full. But when i go to the menu and to fax memory it is saying empty. How to solve this problem

FAX machine sends but doesn't complete connection, error report is busy/no signal. I have had the phone co check external line and private tech check internal line. Unable to receive also. Unit worked fine for two months after purchase then problem suddenly showed up. Called Canon tech support but no help after resetting Fax options. Tried several FAXes to various numbers. HELP!

Try disconnecting the printer cord from computer. I have this same problem at work. For some reason when you pull out the printer cord, the fax will send and receive. I don't understand and it's very FRUSTRATING!!!! I just plug in the printer cord when I need to print a document from the computer. Then, pull the cord back out so you can receive faxes when you are away!
