Are you looking for cat5 straight through cable or crossover??

option 1 (straight through)
each pin correspond to the other end in the same spot.

If all the cables are colored the same then you need an ohm meter to identify them.

Option 2: (crossover)

Pin 1 correspond to pin 3
Pin 2 correpond to pin 6
Pin 3 to Pin 1
Pin 6 to Pin 2

or you can go to (for schematics):

Hello

Your cat5 will make up 4 pair. org/org/wht being one pair and so on.

So as long as you keep them in pairs you will be ok.

Meaning. Pair one from cat5 org and org/wht to wall plate wht and brn. This would be one complete pair.So the wall plate colors are different from cat5 but as long as you stay in pairs and go from left to right on your conections you should be ok.

I want to run an ethernet cable under my house. I have cat5e wall plugs, blue ethernet cable, and a Krone tool, but no instructions. Looking on line isn't helping. Can you?

Here's a good instructional video on making ethernet cable:

One thing to note: the order of the colors doesn't matter, as long as they match exactly on the other side. Also, make sure you alternate between solid colored wires and wires that are striped.

Stripe/Solid/Stripe/Solid/Stripe/Solid/Stripe/Solid etc.

I need to wire a network cable into a wall plate purchased at home depot. the plug is not rj45 but a block with 8 screws and different colored wires. the problem is the colors don't match cat5e wire.any...

I have tried this, and my suggestion is to go back and get the proper wall jack. How much are headaches worth to you? If they are worth more than the wall plate, just **** it up and get the correct one.

Cat5e Single Socket RJ45 Ethernet Network Face Plate

My preference is to use the T-568b if there is not already a standard where you are doing the installation at. The A and B are just different standards to terminate an ethernet cable.
TIA/EIA-568-A, T-568B RJ45 Wiring Standards

To answer your question..If you want a straight through connection you would use T-568B (or T-568A) at both ends of the cable.

T-568B T-568A

I am trying to connect the ethernet cable to a philips RJ45 wall

There are two standards for ethernet wiring. Most cables use the B standard, but many manufacturers of central wiring boxes (OnQ, LeGrand, SmartHome) have central units wired to the A standard. Wall outlets have to be wired to the same standard as the central unit, assuming there is one. You have to determine whether the other end of whatever you are wiring is wired to the A or B standard. If you are wiring both ends yourself, use the B standard. The wiring diagrams are here:

Wiring on a RCA RJ-45 wall jack

the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:

1 Blue --- Orange/White
2 Orange --- Orange
3 Black --- Green/White
4 Red --- Blue
5 Green --- Blue/White
6 Yellow --- Green
7 Brown --- Brown/White
8 White --- Brown

I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.

Just use 568-B or 568-A on both ends of the same cable.

I have a cat5e network cable i am hooking to rj45 flush mounted wall jack the wire color is not the same?

Either your wallmount is not correctly crimmped according to the standards or your cable is not correctly crimmped according to the standards. So its better you crimp the cable and fix the R.J 45 connector in the sequence given herewith.colour coding of the cable:-
1-oranage white
2-orange
3-White green
4-Blue
5- White blue
6-Green
7-White brown
8-Brown
The same Sequence should be at the wallmount and at the R.J 45 connector.
