I believe the problem is a leak in your heater core. The water would run down the inside of the firewall or near it thus running under the mat.

I had the same problem with my '05 QX56 after heavy rain. It seems that the sunroof drainage hole was blocked, allowing the water to overflow the drainage channel. I diagnosed the problem by opening the sunroof after I opened the door to see water dripping on the passenger floor. Once the sunroof is rolled back, look for a puddle of water in the front corners of the sunroof drainage channel. I solved the problem with a zip tie I found in my glove compartment.

Why does my Citroen xsara picasso 2hdi 2003 have some sort of oil leak seeping through mat by passenger feet

If the Air Conditioning unit is leaking refrigerant, that would explain the oil. There is oil in the refridgerent.

Toyota 2006 Corolla wet floor mat passenger side

It sounds like your heater core is done. That is in a tight spot in behind the glove box. Get a new one for around $60.00.

Carpets are wet in foot wells after all the frosty weather, and not just when it rains. Any solutions?

Have you been adding any coolant? You could have a leaking heater core, which will usually leak to the inside, wetting the carpets in the well. Most American cars locate the heater core on the passenger side of the firewall, so a leak will typically show up on only the passenger side floor. I once had an Audi that had the heater core mounted just about dead center on the firewall. When it started leaking, both sides of the well(s) got wet.

Wet floors on passenger side after it rains.

Is it possible the water is actually coming from the A/C evaporator case, whose DRAIN IS CLOGGED ? The water produced by the A/C then leaks out of the case, down under the carpeting, then depending how vehicle is parked, can flow to the rear floors and carpet. Hope this helps

I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier XL 4X4. I recently noticed that the passenger side floorboard is wet UNDER the floor mat. Could this be the air conditioner backing up?

yes, your a/c drain is most likely clogged up causing the water to come inside the cab. see your nissan dealr. warantee issue. 3 years 36000 miles.
