Why can't my MC3190G connect to my Windows 7 machine via Windows Mobile 6.1?

Currently the MC3190 can connect with a PC running XP Pro and ActiveSync, but when I plug the docking station into my Windows 7 machine running Windows Mobile 6.1, I it tries to install the device driver and the installation fails (i.e. the driver software is not installed).

Hi, for Win 7, you cannot use activesync, you need to use the Mobile Device Centre, also from Microsoft, free download.
This will load the drivers into Windows7 such that it will recognise the Symbol/Motorola MC3190 when it is docked to an attached cradle
Note: for some applications you could previously set the "Guest Only" flag in Regedit for an ActiveSync and the handheld would not ask about the connection each time (assuming you do not want sync email) but in win7 it will ask each time.

How do i get the internet explorer message that appears from time to time off the screen of motorola mc3190 without having to shut it down

The key combination you looking for to close any window or message in a Windows environment is ALT+F4, depending on the type of keypad the Motorola MC3190G are using.

Please Note: Keypad functions can be changed by an application so the mobile computer keypad may not function as described.

48-Key Keypad

The ALT functions are indicated in blue on the keypad, so in order to use these, you have to activate the ALT Functions first by pressing the BLUE BUTTON (FUNC) (Right side below ENTER button) and then press the CTRL BUTTON (left side below BKSP button).

After the key combination is pressed, the ALT icon appears on the taskbar on WinCE devices or the ALT icon appears at the bottom of the screen on Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.

Now you can press the "D" button to use F4, this will close any window or message that is currently in view.

38-key Keypad

Press the blue FUNC BUTTON (Right side below RIGHT ARROW button), and then press CTRL button (Middle below UP ARROW button), now you can press the F4 button.

28-Key Keypad

Press the blue FUNC button (Bottom right next to Power button), and then press the CTRL button (Top right side below RIGHT ARROW button), now you can press number 4 to use F4.

Hope this helps, good luck.

How to enable Motorola MC3190 to access internet through LAN

Do you have Wireless Fusion on your machine?
If so, Enable Radio-->Scan for your WLAN-->Connect with a profile. If all settings are correct, and still can't get it associated, try disabling 802.11d from Wireless Fusion Menu-->Options-->Regulatory-->uncheck 802.11d.

Mine works after disabling this. Hope it'll work for you

Unique customer Registration for MYOB Plus 11 I used MYOB 7 for years, and it worked all the way up to Windows 7 - now it won't even start. Its time to leave. I have a copy of MYOB Plus 11 that seems to...

Or, just get a version of windows 7 (look for "Windows Anytime Upgrade" on your computer) that can run a virtual XP machine (Pro or Ultimate versions), then download and install the virtual PC hyper-viser kernal and the XP Mode virtual machine.

Next, install your old copy of MYOB 7 into the XP mode virtual machine, copy your data files, and it should work....

EXPLANATION OF "WHY": MYOB 7 was actually meant to run on windows 95/98 machines, and this wasn't a problem in XP, because it could run a program that would basically emulate all of the win95/95 API's, under which MYOB 7 could run. Starting with windows vista, those old API's and emulation programs were basically tossed. Running the program under a virtual XP machine will give your old programs, like MYOB 7, access to those old API's. BTW, once the program is installed, it should auto register with windows 7. After which it will run in the win 7 interface almost as if it were a native program (will take longer to load as it has to load XP OS too).

One note, any custom forms (invoices, etc) may not work after copying them to the new installation of MYOB. Change their file attributes from Read Only (uncheck that box from within the files' properties dialog, via windows file explorer).

Oh, you'll definitely want as much RAM in your computer as you can get in there. XP mode will take a minimum of 512MB, but it'll be slow unless you set it up for at least a gig of ram.
