For KitchenAid Microwave, KHMS 147KWH-0, the inside light needs to be replaced. Where is the bulb located?

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can download Kitchenaid / Maytag / Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

    Thanks for the FixYa rating.

Looking at the exploded view diagram I referred you to, it's located inside the oven on the top / right side.

    If
there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's
manual doesn't address it) some disassembly will be required.

On an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and
see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom
    covering the light(s), instead.

    If not, chances are
you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If
so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

I would refer you back to the link I posted to download the installation instructions.

Sharp combo microwave: Turntable wont stop unless I leave the door ajar. Light stays on too while turntable is going. Everything else works fine - it just doesn't know when to shut up! :)

It's a door switch that's bad. Probably the secondary interlock switch. You need an ohm meter to verify switch not 'making' electrically. Usually the only thing that causes this switch to fail is from opening the door when the microwave is cooking, secondly, by cooking at very extended lengths of time.

GE Microwave Model: JVM1540DN1BB Keypad appears to work... but Microwave doesn't work

The problem is more than likely in the microprocessor control board, sometimes a bad relay, or poor solder points.

Microwave runs but does not heat or cook food

If a Goldstar, LG or Zenith MV1610 or MV1608 is running but not seeming to heat a load placed in center of turntable, its probably because the "stirrer" intended to spread microwaves generated by the magnetron around the cook chamber is stuck so that most all the heating is directed toward the back and top rather than the center of the cook chamber. This usually occurs after cooking for longer than a minute with no load in the cook chamber - as when a model w/o a timer (such as a MV1608) is intentionally operated in cook mode to serve as a kitchen timer, or when a model with a timer function (such a MV1610) is accidentally operated for longer than a minute w/o any load. Before assuming the magnetron (usually warranted for 5, 8 or even 10 years) or other high voltage component such as diode or capacitor needs to be replaced, try “cooking” a 16 oz pyrex cup of water at full power on the outer edge of the turntable for 2-3 minutes - which usually reactivates the "stirrer" and restores normal cooking function.

Not heating. all else works. any experience with warranty-- do they pay for labor or just the magnetron? if so can I fairly easily replace it myself? Thank You

Revolving plate no longer rotates . All else works, it continu;es to cook, but we need to move the items of food from time to time

Remove the plate, and check if the square shaped gear that normally spins the turntable is rotating.

If it is rotating, then replace the turntable gear.

If it is not rotating that means that the motor that spins the microwave turntable does not rotate, and must be replaced.

GE Spacemaker JVM1533WD turntable sometimes works, mostly doesn't

The part with the three rollers that holds your turntable needs to be replaced if you want it to turn. That plastic and those rollers get cooked over time like everything else. The microwave is designed to basically cook with the moisture in anything placed inside the microwave. Those rollers have probably become warped enough so they don't roll properly when heated and that is why they do work somewhat after a night of nonuse. You may be able to find one at a local repair shop for almost nothing. Those parts are pretty generic. Even at a garage sale or flea market. Other than buying from a local dealer you can go on the internet at www.mwoparts.com and get any part for the microwave. Good luck and God bless you.
